Re: New aFe intake option coming...

I still have no tracking number and paid for it months ago. What sucks more is that I have seen people paying $100 cheaper then what I paid for it. I'm about to call cancel the order get my credit back then reorder at the cheaper price.

These just started to ship and anyone who has paid a cheaper price meaning a coupon or Black Friday off mine or AFE's site has not and will not receive theirs before anyone that has paid. Only a few went out last week and it's the first ones to go with more going this week. So anyone that has ordered this past Friday is at the bottom of the list to receive theirs.

Where did u order from? If us it's coming or AFE theirs are also shipping again in order they where recieved.

I wouldn't recommend canceling with either of us I've aske to see if certain ones are shipping and they just go in order no priority unfortunately I've tried and I respect that it's the right thing to do by them. So if you cancel you could end up getting it in a month because I sold a lot and I'm sure AFE sold a lot too the wait is almost over hold tight I understand the frustration feels like an eternity but it's almost over buddy!

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Hi all, a little more on the install, its very easy to take the stock intake out and if you wiggle the rubber trim you can get it off of the green pins. The rubber hose on the ccv was the hardest part for me but it was 35 degrees. Maybe soak it in hot water before trying to push it on might help. You put the unit together in 1 piece out of the car and then slide it in. I did the X Lume badge at the same time , which was easier with the air box out. There are 2 rubber grommets that you take off of the old and push into the new intake, be careful if you pull the unit up after it was seated, the grommets pull out, maybe some glue would keep them in place? I think it is very well made and it fits like a glove. I have to retrieve the grommet today and finish installing the brake ducting that has to come off for the badge. Maybe order a few grommets as spares in case they fall when servicing the filter? Its more a pain to remove the brake duct. Good luck with yours!

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

I agree with Black Ops, i feel its waiting for, i ordered before the group buy and i was #2 on AFEs list and i also called them a few times, even if it doesn't get the gains that AFE claims, it still looks much better than stock so I'm glad i waited!

Thanks for the info so far. I don't care so much about looks as - like another user mentioned - I also don't drive with the hood open. Can you comment on any performance experiences with the new intake?

I do agree with Chad here, it isn't worth cancelling the order but it is a bit disappointing that a further discount was offered to this particular product the week it started to ship when some have been waiting months who paid pre-sale price.

IMO it would have been fairer to remove the pre-sale price once they started to ship, meaning the recent sale price would be comparable to the price we all paid in advance.

As of tomorrow I would assume it'd be full price??

Just my rant. 👍

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

I'm not happy either, ordered mine from aFe on 06/26/15 and with shipping I paid 469.00. My credit card was charged immediately and It didn't state at the time of order that it was a pre-order. Then months later I read all about discounts...wow.

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Hi, finished with mine today and I'm happy with it, the intake air was 66 and the outside temp was 42. As i said before the only problem i can see is lifting the housing to remove it to clean the filter. I found the lost grommet by the power steering unit. i lifted it again just to see if the grommet would fall off and this time they stayed on the housing. The hose going to the ccv had to be trimmed a little. It sounds like it has a little better roar but with all the shoppers out i really couldn't test it around here. There is 1 spare grommet on the old unit if 1 falls and you can't find it. I would of liked it made a little easier to clean the filter but I'm sure the more we clean them, it will get easier to do. Over all i give it a very good rating. There are pics of it at post 58 and 59.
