Re: New aFe intake option coming...

any update on the IAT readings? I get 6-8 degrees above ambient driving and 20-30 idling depending on the day 60-70 degrees outside (can get over 40 when it is 100+ outside)...I am getting nice numbers with the current aFe, but this does appeal to me...only if this dyno does in fact prove the claims. I look forward to hearing feedback...pics installed??

And FWIW I was able to get 22.1 mpg's over 442 highway miles in under 6 hours, so avg speed was 75-80mph...these non funflats and setup have been working out well so far

Hey man, I am in Chicago as well and my AFE is supposed to arrive today.

I'm in Lincoln Park, where are you located?

Ordered mine August 6 still no email saying its shipped! It's Killing me! I so hope to get by Xmas here but with intl shipping might be pushing it, I'm doing a road trip too (12hrs each way) so would be awesome to have the intake in for that!!!!!

Installed it last night. Very easy to install and looks the part. Those that like a pretty engine bay will be happy.

I'll be noting temps over the next couple of days, but one thing I've noticed straight up is how much faster the intake temps drops after idling for a while.

As for any power claims, I couldn't say off the bum-o-meter, however it is noticeably more responsive.

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Any feedback on the sound? I think this will be quieter than my current injen. Kinda grown to love the intake sound. Is this muffled?

FedEx is requiring a signature so I have to wait until tomorrow to see mine...

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

ok, i finally got to take it out, i was running at 45-46 degrees intake and outside was 40 for quite a while and then it went about 10 degrees over outside temp. At idle it went to low 60s. it seemed to settle about 10 degrees for the rest of the drive. that was at 45-50 mph. I think the roar got louder especially at take off.

The Pro 5R. The Oiled one mainly because I've had similar on most my cars.

@CLStech It's a little louder than the stock air box under normal acceleration. However it does give a nice growl under WOT.

Re: New aFe intake option coming...
