Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Thanks for the video CLStech, it is pretty much that easy, when cleaning the filter, i suggest loosening the clamp on the rubber coupling farthest from the throttle body as there in not much thread on the other clamp . By the way i went with the dry filter.

And for those that may not have exactly the right tools with them, I did it with 8mm and 10mm ring spanner, a wide tip screwdriver (for the careful removal of the trim clips), scissors to trim the hose, a little bit of soap to help get the hoses on and 2 beers.

Its about a 1 beer job, but the 2nd to sit back and admire your work.

I like to take my time, I think I might need 3...

The only thing I would like to know is, is it worth the money?
Thank you for any info you can provide.

Not so much the install, but would be interesting to hear what differences you see in temps and any performance change up or down.

After some more driving I'm definitely seeing better temps on the move. Idling a little cooler but not a huge difference from stock. It does seem to drop the temp down more quickly once you get moving.

In saying the above I've only done about 80klm (50 miles), so take with a grain of salt at this stage.

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

At idle I don't think your temperature is going to decrease at all if any. Simple latent heat from the engine is going to be absorbed from the intake because of the volume of air moving across it will not be enough to cool it as fast as it is absorbing heat

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Sorry I have no real feedback right now, but she is installed. Hell of a kit design wise!

With what I have experienced so far, the design, fit, and quality alone are worth the money. More "real" info to come.

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

So far I'm noticing iat at 9 degrees above ambient steady. My previous injen was 6-9 degrees above. This is while traveling on the highway at 70.
Sound is quieter than the injen, but louder than stock air box. I'm missing the injen intake sound but I'll get over it.
I think I'm getting more air flow for sure. Jeep pulls quick and hard BUT it is a cold day here in NC so the jeep wakes up in cold temps anyway.
... More feedback to come
