So when the hood is closed its not taking all of the air thru the piece of molding or rubber that is removed? Sorry for my ignorance but just trying too picture this

Air will flow from the hood vent and below from factory Airbox path.

So 17hp gain at the wheels is about 22hp "rated" or crank hp using your 360hp AWHP against 475 rated HP (24% drivetrain loss) ...4.6% gain over stock air just from a cai..not too shabby in my book.

I know a lot of u guys r focused on comparos with your current cai and idle iat is a concern, "roar" under WOT, etc....guess I have to decide whats more important to me....looks (its beautiful), fitment (TBD), roar (Grt over stock but quieter than other options), idle or cruise/WOT iat or $ (eh, $1-200 either way over years of use, nothing to me)...

Can't argue with 17hp for me it looks good, minor fitmet issue aside, it sounds good & performs well, temp issue??? Well i'll keep working on it, city driving temps are through the roof, imo 40* above ambient is no good

80 degrees? Should we only use them when it's cooler outside?

City driving and of course stop and go it shoots up around that range. I tried not to keep track of it for a while so I'll confirm next week for sure. But when I was paying attention it was in the 70's in NC.

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Understood Chad, I felt like when it was 70 degrees in NC it seemed to creep quickly up to that 40 above range. This is not while moving though. Moving was 9-12 above but getting to this point takes some time.
