Any reason you didn't wrap the entire tube?

I ordered the 12"x24" and the 12"x12" just so I'd have enough to cover all bases if I desire. Thanks for sharing the idea!

I wanted to to keep the black stock look plus I think the AFE intake is a good looking piece of work also most all the radiated heat will come from underneath in that corner by the exhaust manifold

Gotcha... I might cover more of mine. Looks are nice, but the amount of time I'll spend looking under the hood compared to time driving the truck... might as well pick function over beauty!

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Got mine in yesterday. Combined with the custom tune I just got, I made my fastest 0-60 of 4.0 w/ half a tank and 43 degrees. I'm certain I could get below 4 in the right conditions. Previous best was 4.1, 3/4 tank, 20 degrees. Tune really woke the beast like I couldn't believe, and I'm sure the intake helped take advantage of that. Unfortunately no dyno numbers like I wanted to do, but if it were me I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. I also did the heat reflector wrap as previously mentioned.

Re: New aFe intake option coming...

Put it on last night and went for a quick test drive. Overall sound is a bit different. Intake temps and power feel about the same. Admittedly, it was a 10ish min test drive and I didn't lay into it.

Give it a few hundred miles to wake up a bit
