New Jeep SRT8 vs. old model which is faster?

From what I've read, this new SRT8 is most certainly more powerful, however due to the added weight people are saying the older version is actually faster ?

True ??

Judging by this, and the burnout thread, my advice would be to do some reading here first. This question cannot be answered yet, and has been argued ad nauseum.

If you would like to see heated arguments and bashing of the WK2 and how it cannot possibly complete with the first gen, there is another site good at that

What is your measurements that equal faster?

And since there are no customer units on the road, no one can truly tell yet. The pre-release tests of the first version have it slightly slower in 2 of 3 reviews.
However, I own a 2010 and drove a 2012 and the one I drove didn't launch like mine. However I do have a CAI so take it for what its worth. No one can say until 1000's of units are out on the streets. IMO

They added 50 ponies and 500+ Ibs to the second gen WK2 my money is on the WK1 I know my 2006 was a monster off the line.

I'm sure many first gen owners are going to make its point to race a gen 2.
