Re: New pics of my white 2014 SRT

I also have a white one as of a month ago, haven't done anything to it yet. I am most curious about removing the letters on the hood and the doors. I especially don't like the door letters. If it came with an SRT like yours it probably wouldn't bother me but the long G R A N D C H E R O K E E is just driving me nuts.

How do you take the letters off an is there a chance to damage the paint?

I'd also love to get my back SRT painted black and color the trailor hitch cover like you did yours though I'd seriously consider red for that and maybe just leave the back SRT letters off too.

Also any advice on shops/service places in Houston.

I have yet to try the launch control, been working crazy hours lately so I've no idea when I can take it to the track... not sure I even want to. The size of this thing just intimidates me.

Anyways, thanks for the awesome thread and pics, really motivational. I'm in Dallas area all the time would love to meet up some day.

Taking the letters off are real simple. Heat gun and a plastic shim tool. Heat then up and pick them right off. Then use a light compound and wax where the were just to make sure you got the glue off. Simple as that. You can even use floss to peel them off but I don't like that method

Have to say I agree with this method. Don't use a wire, it doesn't work well and leaves more residue on the car. Just heat them up one at a time, and pry them off with something.

Jeep really need to make this an option, as do european makers (delete model designation).

Ain't that the truth! I haven't read of anyone successfully deleting on MY14s but add me to the list that sure would like to.

One thought I had would be to remove the JEEP badge, fill the recess with a putty or something that could be easily reversed, then vinyl wrap that whole section of the brow. Anyone done this or think it would work?

Thank you and let me know when you are in dallas. I might be down in houston for the mopar fest later this month. I took my letters off like 3 days after I got my SRT. I didnt want to heat up the paint or anything with a heat gun bc I have had to experience with one. So I just got a spray bottle of 3M adhesive remover and just sprayed the hell out of the decals then took a random gift card and pushed down on adhesive and they popped right off with no problem and no damage. I think it was easier for me this way because my car had been sitting in the 108 degree sun alll day so they were already pretty heated and also because my truck was so new that the adhesive had not cured to the paint all the way.
