Of the options provided, select the one that WILL drastically affect your Jeep SRTs resale value:

[ ] Driving it in the rain.
[X] Painting chrome trim red all over vehicle.
[ ] Never driving it.
[ ] None of the above.

The Laguna seats are beautiful, of fantastic quality and I get remarks from everyone who sits in or touches them. The HK sounds great - particularly given a vehicle is one of the worst acoustic environments to listen to music. Worth $2k? Probably not but it is a quality system and I'm very happy with it in my SRT. The panorama roof is also worth it to me as I enjoy driving with the roof open and lots of light in the cabin. I just feel it enhances the overall appeal of the vehicle.

I went with the spare but in hindsight I regret it as I have actually taken it out and put it in the garage to save weight! I went with the p-zeros for summer and have Pirelli scorpion ice and snow for the winter. The spare is a waste of money IMO.

Only issues I've had are with the clunky tranny but that has since smoothed out considerably since a software update and 11,000 total miles. Could just be all of the components breaking in. Idk but the fun of the vehicle far outweighs any shortcomings in my opinion.

My only real complaint is with jeep service. I've tried a few dealerships and just feel they're largely behind with regard to these sophisticated vehicles and systems.

Otherwise, this is by far the best and most enjoyable vehicle purchase I have ever made. It's fun to drive and provides exciting performance. Good luck.

This is a spot on review. It echoes my thoughts exactly.

I had my original SRT bought back and replaced due to the clunking transmission issue. I'm glad I stayed with the SRT. My new one is very smooth shifting and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

If your dealer won't let you test drive one. Find another dealer.

I know exactly who you are referring to. I think I got a notification it was back on eBay. No surprise.

hankwedge, The only rule I can think of is a prohibition of consuming Primati Bros sandwiches while driving.

DMB4040- Thank you for clarifying where the player is mounted. The dealer was certain it mounted below the radio head unit. It seems kind of useless in the console, as I'm sure it will be full with other junk and fairly inaccessible.

If I can get the same deal on either an ordered car or lot car, I think I'd have to follow your steps and go for a custom ordered one. Thank you for the heads up on the full lifetime warranty. I didn't know that Chrysler still offered anything like that. It will definitely be something to go along with my purchase. In the past few years, I've learned how truly valuable a warranty really is. After calling up the warranty hotline, it sounds like a $0 deductible is available, which may be a great option. Do you mind me asking what the plan went for? The guy on the phone gave me a blanket quote from $1300-$5000.

Thankfully, there are enough Jeep dealers so I may be able to find a good service department.

Jsboening, what year was your srt which was bought back? Did you have to go through the lemon law process? I intend to find a dealer willing to let me test drive one, even if I have to drive a bit. A few years back I wanted to buy a gt-500, but no dealer would let me test drive; even after a distant dealership told me I would. Needless to say, I never bought the car, and can't really be disappointed because I have no idea what I am missing out on.

Also, schleprok and jsbening, I feel like I'm missing out on an inside joke.

My plan is to have mine looking like: Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum by February. Although, hopefully we'll get a little bit less snow this year.

It was a sept. Build 2015. It had been in the shop 52 days. The mere threat of lemon law got FCA to replace it.

Thank you for clarifying that one for me. Sometimes I can be a little thick.

Wow, almost two months in the shop!?! Were there any issues in them buying it back? Did the new one cost you anything out of pocket?

rg171352

Let me put it to you this way. Once you sit in an SRT and you floor it, you will NOT want to go with an overland or summit. The power is addicting! It handles beautifully and it turns head when you drive it. I had one problem with my jeep and that was a transfer case.. Maybe it was a fluke or maybe I was just to hard on it while using the launch control. Either way it's under warranty. I don't care about the gas mileage because I really love the way I burn my fuel. The sound system is superior and satisfying. The seats I didn't go with the laguna leather since I feel there is to much of a contrast.
I had a 2012 Overland before, fully loaded and two things are different from the SRT, 1) power !!! and the overland is a softer ride due to the air suspension.

I don't think anyone is disapointed in their jeep SRT and I hope you get to test drive one real soon because when you drive one rest assured your questions will be answered!

Hopefully you'll be joining the SRT team

Good Luck

I'm approximating as I'm at work and I don't have the exact figures in front of me. My dealer tried charging me around $3500+ for the lifetime warranty with $100 deductible. I came prepared with an online printout from another FCA dealership (quite a few places online that you can get them from) for around $1800. He matched their price after a quick conversation.

I was also looking at the $0 deductible option, but it was about $3300 from the same online dealership, and for a difference of $1,500, that essentially means I would break even if I made 15 claims or more. I rolled the dice with the $100 plan.

Re: New to Jeeps, seeking advice on GC SRT

Damien79, The contrast on the laguna is the one thing keeping me from it, although on paper it sounds good. I was hoping someone could give me a real good reason to go for it besides the puffery about it on the SRT website. Which sound system do you have, the stock one or the premium? I care a little about the gas, but not too much. I'd rather not get 8 mpg. My test for that is that the car has to at least get better gas mileage than a 390 Cyclone.

I'm curious how the difference in power will really be felt. I only got to take it down a crowded highway and some 35-40 mph backroads in a town with a large police presence.

I'm looking very forward to test driving an SRT. Hopefully this weekend! Thank you for the good luck!

DMB4040, Thank you for the reply. That is a huge difference in price. Is that for a 3rd party lifetime warranty or the actual Jeep one? Do you have the info on the online dealer so I can try the same thing you did? Also, I see you're in NY. What dealer did you decide to take the plunge with? I saw your thread from when you were looking to buy. Was the dealer near DC the one in Chantilly?

Thanks again!

Buy back was a headache to put it mildly, but FCA treated me right in the end. I'd buy another FCA vehicle. Except a Fiat anything.

The buy back cost me nothing. It was an even exchange.
