You're welcome!

Also, I guess I'm in it for the long haul now. I just bought the lifetime maxcare. Hopefully I dont regret buying it. I went for the $100 deductible plan.

Re: New to Jeeps, seeking advice on GC SRT

My driver's seat came with a gouge in the piping on the left bolster. FCA approved the repair and sent a seat cover to the dealer who has been doing my work. However, the service manager isn't comfortable installing it and wants me to think about it before I ask them to do it. He is afraid that the new cover won't fit the foam correctly and the new piping may not look right.

Any suggestions?

If you keep the SRT long enough you'll be happy you got the coverage. It's paid off for me on past Jeeps.

If you sell the SRT, I would imagine a transferable lifetime warranty (for a $50 fee) will increase the resale value by quite a lot.

I was told that the lifetime isn't transferable but the 7yr and below are (for $50 transfer fee). That is why I didn't go with the lifetime personally.

True dat....believe only NC and FL owners can transfer a Lifetime but it must have been bought in that state on FL/NC contract stock.

You know, I've been buying Mopar contracts for 15 years, and when Lifetime became available I knew it wasn't transferable.

When I got my latest policy I saw the $50 transfer provision on the last page, and was quite surprised. Looking at it again though, that transfer provision only applies to the Tire & Wheel protection I bought with the policy.

I noticed two other very interesting things:

1) The lifetime policy is refundable for the first 7 years/100k miles, and will be prorated for the amount of time and mileage used.

2) Key fobs that are lost are covered, with NO deductible. Considering it's nearly $200 for a new FOB and programming that's pretty impressive coverage.

Re: New to Jeeps, seeking advice on GC SRT

I wasn't sure if it was transferable to buyers in those states or from sellers there. I kept the Lincoln for 11 years and would have loved to have had a warranty for the last 40k of ownership. For the price, I couldn't beat it. The salesman said it was $100 over cost.

I had heard that it was refundable, but didn't realize it was up to 7 years/ 100k, that really is fantastic.

I'll have to look for the part about lost key fobs. That's really a wonderful thing to have since I get so paranoid about them. In fact, I'm wondering where my spare is right now...

Also, I don't have a photo of the gouge right now. I'll take one when I pick the SRT up. I have it where I keep my Mustang, which I'm working on getting ready for the winter before a freak blizzard sneaks up on me.

The original contract must have been sold by a NC/FL business and if it was the genuine Mopar MVP it will then saybit is transferrable on the contract....very literal and exact.

uconnect = useless?

I find that most of the Apps never really proceed beyond the loading screen. I can't use any of the apps at all, and can definitely see myself refraining from subscribing to any of these services once the trial has run out.

Yep, FCA's attempt to insert themselves via UConnect into our connected, streaming smartphone world is a flop, IMHO. Are they really getting enough people to pay for yr 2+ to support this endeavor? I just don't get it. The only hook they have is the handsfree integration that I see.....

Re: New to Jeeps, seeking advice on GC SRT

I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like it. The packaging is good and the GUI's are nice, however the functionality is meh at best currently. I like the YELP feature, but that's the only app that works. The people on the uconnect line cannot even explain where the data comes from in order to support the apps. Although, since none of them work, I really don't need to worry about that.

The most frustrating thing is I have a Windows phone. I like my phone, but MoPar doesn't.

Any other thoughts? Does anyone have a high functioning uconnect? Personally, I like my Dad's Sync way more.
