Hi All - I am thinking about buying a 2014 GC SRT and wondering how they perform in snow. I liver in the Northwest and have owned Range Rovers, a Yukon Denali, and a Tahoe, so I am used to being able to get around in the snow without any issues. Typically only plowed roads, but sometimes I hit the roads before they have been plowed. Either way - can anyone offer their insight as to how the SRT performs in the snow? Appreciate your time. Thanks

Re: New to the SRT-WK2 Forum

I live in NE WY and have had no issues with the snow. Use the snow dial and it gets even better. U can rest easy this will perform well in the snow.

Re: New to the SRT-WK2 Forum

I posted a thread just a few weeks backs - we've been getting dumped on in record fashion here in Chicago. I don't switch my wheels and tires and I'm used to lifted pickups. The snow dial is unreal. You won't have any issues at all!

Suspension setup aside, it is not hard to see why the WK2 SRT operates very handily and safely (with a good driver) in the snow. The drivetrain is spec'd with a LSD rear diff with a responsive torque vectoring front drive.

Don't forget that it is still all about the tires especially when it comes to off conditions like winter driving. The all season Pirelli tires that come standard are good tires in the white stuff, but you can't compare those Pirelli tires to a winter tire like Blizzaks if you are facing icy and/or really cold conditions.

I have posted a couple times on the snow + SRT topic. Granted I have blizzards, but as mentioned with snow mode it is a super winter ride. Unless you do something really dump or another driver makes you have a bad day. I can't see how this would ever let you down. Just wish I could put on some splash guards for the winter.

I purchased replica wheels and Pirelli Scorpion winter tires. I was little concerned about how the 10" wide wheel/tire combination would perform in winter, but I've found this setup is awesome on both snow and ice. No problems at all.

I live in Philly and I'm currently riding on the stock rims and stock Pirelli all seasons and I got stuck in one snow storm with the SRT and it was incredible. Complete control and comfort. Flip that biotch in snow mode and go!

Agreed with all. I live in the Philly burbs and had a 2010 SRT GC. Got caught many times in the snow on stock tires and had zero issues - and live on top of a fairly steep hill. Just have to be careful as the go part is fine - it's the emergency stopping where it can get sketchy.

I just picked up a WK2 SRT yesterday and it has a "snow" option as a setting. I assume that will start me out in 2nd gear to limit the torque. Not sure yet but I have plenty of experience with these trucks in the snow and can confidentiality say that it'll be fine.
