Re: New tranny TSB for 2014 jeep SRT

Just had the TSB completed. It does shift smoother, although it does seem to jump to 8th quicker than before. Need to get out and run it a bit to see how it feels going through the gears quickly. Also had the dealership complete an alignment (covered under warranty).

Busy week for the Jeep, got the front windows tinted Monday, Stealthbox installed on Wednesday, and spent the morning at the dealership today getting the TSB addressed.

FYI, when getting the TSB taken care of, be sure to have a fair amount of fuel in your SRT. The dealer took mine 45+ miles to calibrate. They said it could have taken up to two hours of drive time by a tech.

I would be going back to that dealer and asking for gas money. I think the mechanic was looking for an excuse to take your truck on a joy ride. I had the service bulletin done at the dealer on Monday. I was in and out in 20 mins. Mechanic said he took it around the block to make sure everything was shifting ok but he did also say that the computer would take a couple hundred miles to relearn your driving habits since it was reflashed. Maybe your mechanic was misinformed or thought he would just help your computer relearn but driving it awhile for you.

Yeah, he was "checking" the shift parameters.

Re: New tranny TSB for 2014 jeep SRT

For my flash they put 10 miles on. Basically left the dealer did some street driving then freeway loop back. At first I even wondered if they did anything but they did drive it

Re: New tranny TSB for 2014 jeep SRT

Well I just got back from the dealership where I *think* I had this performed. I'm not so sure. I will attach a picture of the receipt. Unless I'm missing something, it looks like I got a radio update and a ELSD update but I'm not seeing anything on the transmission TSB listed. This is the sole reason I even took it in. What do you guys think?

Actually the dealership also told me they had to drive it for one to two hours (to calibrate the shift parameters) but I told them no. I too thought it sounded like BS. I have only driven it about 40 miles since then (due to a business trip) and have had a few issues - but only with "Sport" mode. In Sport it stays in 6th and 7th gear too long. I'll be going a steady 55 mph in 7th gear and it stays in 7th. I have to paddle shift (touch the paddle several times) before it shifts into 8th.

Will drive some more to see if it "learns" the way it used to shift. If not I guess I'm going to have to let them drive my baby for the necessary time it takes to adjust the shift parameters.

Hey I don't have the tranny update and I've noticed that in sport it does not shift into 8th (at least at the speeds I drive). Thought this was by design.

So in essence the 7-8 shift point is lower in non-sport mode.

I would demand to ride along with them if it really needs to be driven.

Does anyone with the transmission update really notice the difference between auto/sport/track now? I don't remember being able to feel a more aggressive shift in sport and track modes before the update. Auto is very smooth now. Not complaining, just wondering.
Although it does feel a bit slower out if the hole now. Maybe it's just me.

I got mine does as well and like some have said you really notice it when the car is coming to a stop. Downshifts aren't as harsh and they don't "jolt" ya so much
