Mine is a February build and it downshifts pretty rough in auto mode. I cant remember on the others, but I would expect sport and shift to be a little more aggressive.

Guessing my vehicle was probably built after January, I bought it in April, but I guess you never know I will have to look at my paperwork.

I couldn't agree more. Still have yet to do this TSB because I don't trust a single dealer around here. They can't even get my request for No Car Wash straight. The last time I had an update done I was looking for my SRT and found it over with the guys who spoke zero English (Mexicans; this is San Diego) about to wash it.

Re: New tranny TSB for 2014 jeep SRT

Gents:

I hear ya, I've had a few run ins with my dealer, but remember end of the day - (assuming it is a 2014 you have, or still under warrantee)... it is under warrantee - they have to make it right.

My dealer had ZERO clue about the TSB - I had to print it off and bring it in - then they searched and the service manager figured out what to do - once they put in the complaint "hard shift" - this would pop up. If the dealer is worth its salt - they will have one guy work on SRTs. When I came in - they almost sent me home as "Jim" is the only mechanic they let work on my SRT - but he was in for the day.

Also, let's be honest, this isn't rocket science, they download the flash from Chrysler, load it and then train it - really hard to screw it up.

Mine has been much better - the 3rd to 2nd to 1st down shift is great... very smooth - only issue I notice in eco mode - on a 'moderate slow down' 6th to 5th I get a little bump - so when I take it in for the battery boost recall - may have them run it again.

I also thought now that the flash is done, to do the 30 minute battery disconnect reset and train the transmission myself ... but have not yet done that.

Moral of the story - yes the dealers can be an issue - but for stuff like this - you have to document it and make sure they make it right...

On another note, for those of you who have had it done and had your car driven and had petrol sucked out of it, the actual bulletin quotes a "Adaptation drive learn" fuel allowance of $32, so your meant to have a fuel receipt attached to the repair paperwork showing they topped up the tank.
Don't hold your breath. Got my serviced only yesterday and they didn't know what I was talking about even after checking. Got slugged with a $490 service (12,000km). Asked why it was so high, they said it was because they use synthetic oil. Okay what synthetic oil? With a little prodding it turned out to be Castrol Magnatec Pro. Never been a Castrol fan but can't see how it would add so much to a very basic service.

Lexus dealer called me today wondering if I still had my car. Told them no but I was tempted to bring the SRT in to them since the service was so much better and worth the extra$$$.

Got slugged for the tow hitch too. At cost but...ouch. Now I gotta go find something to haul besides a$$.

Lol, no surprise, head mechanic at Castlehill had no idea, said it might be a US thing only.........i thought yeah because they run different trannies right..........NOT...i gave up on that one.

Good ole Castrol, as they say, oils ain't oils, hahhaha........I have not taken mine for a service at dealer for that reason and also don't really have much faith in there workmanship.

Re: New tranny TSB for 2014 jeep SRT

Yeah, he's still there. He must catch shit all the time. While I was waiting for a ride home, he was having a tense conversation with a WK2 Laredo owner who's backup camera was apparently faulty. Rob was saying how it's Chrysler's product quality and there's nothing he can do about it and that he should contact Chrysler Australia. Apparently the Laredo doesn't come with a Backup camera in the US but it does in Oz so the US has to send the BU cam separately to be fit here. Don't know how accurate that is or not. Anyway, I thought the guy was just trying it on until I saw the photos they were all blurry and foggy and pretty much unacceptable. You'd think you can get something better off Ebay for $10.

Also, they forgot to reset my 'Change Oil notice'. Will have to sort that out myself, I guess.

Yes Greg the Laredo camera is a known problem. And yes the $10 one off ebay works better lol.

Re: New tranny TSB for 2014 jeep SRT

I have my 14 in for service right now for a blown speaker and was going to get the tranny tsb done but he advised against it unless my tranny was having issues. They also would have to drive it off the lot so I said forget about it...
