Nitrogen in tires from factory?

Anyone know if they use nitrogen. My guess is not.

Re: Nitrogen in tires from factory?

No, I do not think so......
It's worth reading up on this topic, experts say that in almost all cases its worthless for street cars, for many reasons I won't go into here, I'm sure it's good for racing and other special purpose vehicles, lots of dealers are charging special fees for putting nitrogen into the cars they sell or service, a nice little money maker for them..... as a note, I've seen dealers add compressed air to tires that are so called serviced with nitrogen, when they check the air preasure during routine service, so if they really were filled with nitrogen, the introduction of ANY compressed air, defeats the benefit nitrogen can offer.....

Re: Nitrogen in tires from factory?

You do realize air is already 75% Nitrogen so its pretty pointless in a road car anyway

Re: Nitrogen in tires from factory?

Both my 2011 Overland & my 2012 SRT8 came with nitrogen filled tires from the factory. The SRT8 came with the Pirelli PZero run flats.

There is a nitrogen sticker in the upper corner of the windshield on both Jeeps. Pic attached.

Re: Nitrogen in tires from factory?

I believe if you check with your selling dealer, the nitrogen was probably installed by them and the sticker added, a Dodge dealer in my area adds it to all the new cars they sell, as a sales bonus, but I could always be wrong as to yours, I don't even know what country you purchased your Jeeps in, so its possible that in some markets perhaps they do come that way

Re: Nitrogen in tires from factory?

Guys , as a former manager of the largest tyre manufacture in the world I can tell u it's the biggest bullsh.t ever invented to rob the consumer of the cash.
I have been to numerous drive days and tyre launches to test the effectiveness of nitrogen and there is "NO" benefit whatsoever on a road car and very minimal on a race car.
Only at "EXTREMELY" high temperatures does this help to cool the tyre resulting in extended wear.
Absolute ripoff and should be investigated .

Re: Nitrogen in tires from factory?

It's another 'cash grab' from the Jeep Stealer! Total rip-off & then they want $20 extra for it!

You could be right. I just assumed (and you should never assume ) that they came that way from the factory since the sticker was there when I picked them up. Just out of interest, I'll check the next time I'm at the dealer. Both Jeeps were purchased & delivered in Canada, at two different dealers.

I googled the Symtech nitrogen sticker. It looks like the nitrogen might have been added as part of the tire road hazard warranty.

Re: Nitrogen in tires from factory?

Right on, to everyone, its a gimmick, some dealers are charging up to $100.00 to fill your tires with Nitrogen.... Don't fall for it.... As some here have stated, total BS on a street vehicle.....
