Noisy front suspension

When driving over imperfections in the road, I can hear my grunt suspension clunking/chattering. It reminds me of a being in a cab whose struts are shot (albeit a much more minor feeling).

I remember reading about front strut issues. Can anyone enlighten me?

Re: Noisy front suspension

I have the same thing. Took it to my dealer twice (for multiple items) and the first time they apparently couldn't replicate.

Second time I went for a drive with the tech and identified it. They investigated and advised that this is a known problem with the SRTs and are waiting to hear back from Jeep on what to do.

On a side note, since then I have installed the RM mid drop springs and issue is all but gone, 95% better.

Still haven't heard from dealer it's been 2 weeks. No surprises there.

Re: Noisy front suspension

Several owners have found the issue to be a loose end link. Easy troubleshooting would be to remove them and drive to see if the noise still exist.

Do you mean the sway bar end link?

I too am hearing what sounds almost like a loose ball joint, drivers side front.

Re: Noisy front suspension

To me it sounds like it's coming from the struts, but im no expert at all

Re: Noisy front suspension

I had to have my end links replaced at 20,000 miles and they swapped out both front struts as well ... They blamed it on crap Michigan roads

Yes the sway bar end links. That's an easy first test that usually solves the issue. Hopefully its not the strut I've heard they are hard to come by.

Re: Noisy front suspension

Same issue(s) for me too...took it to dealer they couldn't replicate...then went for a test drive with a tech and I couldn't replicate it (but then of course it was going nuts later that day and every day since). Replacing all my front suspension parts next week so hoping that will fix it. Will keep you posted !

Re: Noisy front suspension

Just noticed mine again even with the new springs. Gonna call the dealer today and see what they will do.

Re: Noisy front suspension

It's the struts or end links 90%of the time guys.

Noisy front suspension

Mine does this too. I have speed bumps in my parkade and if I take them at extreme slow speed I can replicate the sound each time. This is almost at a crawl. Or if I literally inch over and let the vehicle roll off the speed bump I get the loose noisy suspension sound. Did this from day one. Have 7200kms on it.

Re: Noisy front suspension

Hi guys, I've been chasing this one for a while - same thing, especially in my parking garage over speed bumps.

One thing I noticed through trial and error - the noise goes away when you switch from auto to sport mode and stiffen the ride.

Doesn't fix it, I don't daily drive in sport mode - but it makes the clunk go away in the scenario.

Mines going back in to address it again, for a 3rd time, next week.
