Have you tried for a whole new vehicle since it is so new? Express your concern for the "air pocket" and how this air pocket could have caused damage that may not be apparent now but later down the line cause issues. These issues should not be a concern of yours since you bought the vehicle new and they messed it up. With that said if they seem hesitant you can always say you are going to seek legal council on the matter. See where it goes...it never hurts to try...

I agree, this is a $60k+ vehicle, they messed up. It's good now, but what about 20K miles down the road? Will they fix it then?

I'd let the SRT reps do what they do. See what the outcome is. Then push the issue from there if you're not satisfied.

I'm sorry to hear about having a second major jeep issue man. Your luck with them doesn't seem to be stellar...

No it does not. I am gonna try to push them to replace the veh. Anyone know some one high up in SRT that could help me. I feel its gonna be a hard battle.

If the noise is gone, and the case # is on file, you should be all set. As soon as you started hearing anything again, I'd refer to that case # and any paperwork to have the issue addressed at that time. But since it's running smoothly now, I'd drive it.
I know the "feeling" that you have that it might not be reliable now, but I would trust the SRT team and if they felt something was wrong, they would fix it.

I'd at a minimum look for metal flake in the oil and filter.

The leak must be pretty common and they started catching it later on. My original oil filter was way over tightened. So bad it collapsed when trying to remove it.

I think this is getting blown out of proportion now. All these comments for a new Jeep, etc.... The Jeep is fixed, it's documented, and you have 35,000 miles of your bumper to bumper warranty left and 99,000 miles of your power train warranty left. So if something is going to happen it'll be under warranty. Take a look at the oil and see what it looks like. Then again, there is only a 1,000 miles on your Jeep and the first oil change is always dirty and has metallic flakes from the break in process.

Also, when an engine is first started after sitting oil isn't distributed throughout the engine. The Jeep wasn't driven so no damage should really have occurred. They ran the engine for 30 seconds and solved the problem.

Just take the Jeep, it's fixed, and go on your way.

I agree I just don't know how long they ran before they called chrysler and the thing that angers me the most is that the dealer was the one who messed up and they don't want to admit to it. The srt rep is going to call me this afternoon with the outcome of motor.

It was a loose oil filter from when I had the last dealer do the oil change that I would never go back to. The only bad part about that is that now this dealer is charging me $50 to top off and clean up. So now because the old dealer doesn't know how to change oil I get screwed. I'm sure if I take my current invoice to them they wouldn't give me the time of day.
