Not Happy 2 weeks into it.

Not happy at all. Had to have my SRT8 towed to the dealer today. This was after a first visit because there was oil on my garage floor. Service stated that the oil filter was not tight enough. Dealer replaced the oil filter and added some oil to the engine. That was Sat morning. Sat night I started the engine and it started making a horrible nocking noise. Sounded like loud ticking that would macth rpm range. The thing the that pissed me off the most was the service managers attitude like I bought a cheap veh. He just brushed it off. Dealer does not know what the problem is. I have only 1K miles on it and its 2 weeks old. It is also going to the body shop to have the front bumper clips replaced under the headlights since it keeps poping out. Anyone know how to contact a rep from SRT not very happy with the quality of this veh.

The HEMI ticks and is normal. It's the "HEMI Tick"

My oil filter has leaked at the gasket twice. No biggie nor tow needed for me. Just took it to the dealer to have them look at it. It was just a small leak, nothing that would cause the engine oil to go dry.

I heard the tick before but this way louder. Service called me and said they have no idea and are going to call chrysler about it.

Was it after just being started up? Weather change at all when you heard the louder tick? The correct oil being used?

The srt hotline will take care of you. Call them tomorrow.
They stay right on top of the issue and follow up until your case is closed.
On the level of oil, I would ask the hotline what level (0 -7 quarts low) could cause damage. 3 quarts seems pretty low to me.
PS..doesn't sound like a Jeep issue, but a dealer issue.

Re: Not Happy 2 weeks into it.

wow!

send me the vid to scott @ jeepgarage.org

Let me know if theres anything I can do. Sounds like theer could be some damage from low oil. No way to diagnose on the net though.
My 2013 has just under 1000 miles and I would be livid if I had those problems.

I had that one time already too, small oil leak at the filter. Sounds like they got some bad gaskets or something.
