Now that the 16 window trim is black...

Just locked up a 16 SRT today. Glad the window molding is black. The chrome Grand Cherokee lettering looks bad along with the chrome rings. So Would you debadge? And is changing the rings still a PIA?

Definitely debadge. And changing the rings seemed super easy from other forum members

Re: Now that the 16 window trim is black...

I'd debadge... and change the "Jeep" on the tailgate to black one.

Rings are easy to change... including the ones on the lower cowling. I put the CF ones from Black Ops.

OK, how did you do the rings. Is there a thread you could link me to? I heard war stories about them.

Re: Now that the 16 window trim is black...

Cool thanks. And I remember reading about the rear JEEP emblem being removed. Is it the same, with fishing line?

Re: Now that the 16 window trim is black...

The rear is a little more difficult as you cannot get fishing line behind it. It also has a dowel piece that sits through panel. It is still just pulling it off as it's held by badge adhesive.

Re: Now that the 16 window trim is black...

So the rear JEEP, just get behind it and pry it off? Is there a thread on this? I'm picking up my 16 SRT on Monday and want to change all of these this week.

And are you telling me that the lower rings cost $300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't this is your 5th or 6th WK2? With all the money you've lost on previous purchases $300 should be nothing for you.

Re: Now that the 16 window trim is black...

You know that's a good point! But when I lose $$ it's just a bank game. $300 for 2 little rings, cmon.

700 bucks for cf rings that probably weigh the same as plastic ones. Just paint the ones tou have for 10 bucks. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
