So I'm pissed and very thankful at the same time. I was driving on I-95 in North Jersey, which is a very traveled road, especially with large trucks. I was traveling around 75-80mph in the left lane, where I see some shiny object being kicked around the road up ahead. I knew I was trapped in my lane as I had a barrier to the left, and a truck on the right.
There it came, this piece of shiny metal right at my car as the truck in front of me kicked it up like a missile with such speed. It was angling up, but somehow hit my bumper with a huge thud. I looked in the rearview, and didn't see it fly past, so I figured it got caught somewhere on my car.
When I was able to take a peek, the below pictures show what happened. This huge chunk of sharp and heavy metal was a projectile that hit my front bumper. It stuck like a unicorn. I'm pissed as it sliced so far in the bumper that it took me a good 5 minutes to pry it out. I'm thankful, as if the debris was a foot or so higher, this had the speed and weight to crash right through my windshield. Fun day.
