This is what some experts adviced......refer to the picture below....

Black is ideal, yellow is 2nd best, pink is least protective but still probably good

Note 3rd head is in the same spot in all 3 installs

Yea, the idea is to be as close to the headlights as possible and perfectly horizontal with the road. However, I can't imagine how one could get those yellow and black positions to not look completely terrible.

Mounting them horizontally in the grill might be the best option at this point.

Personally I am going with the pink set-up which is the most esthetic.....

Re: OT: Laser Jammers.......

Are you going to cut a hole in the bumper for that 3rd one? I also thought the LI has 2 front sensors only? I guess if you were to add a radar detector it would have another 2 sensors for the front, but I'm not getting the odd number of sensors.

Maybe $70..... Escort doesn't know for sure. They told me that the cost to buy the system now will cover me through 2012.... then after that I don't know how much it would be. It is kind of like buying a house with an adjustable mortgage

Re: OT: Laser Jammers.......

I know that people will cringe, but I cut the 9500CI shifters into the front bar, just above the number plate. I have a clear plate cover that covers the plate and shifters. I needed to go to these lengths as they are very illegal here in Au. You instantly lose 3/4 of your points on your license and a $1500 find for a detector and a $10,000 fine and possible criminal charges for hindering a cop doing his duties or some crap.
I have looked everywhere on our Overland to find a spot for the spare LI I have, but cannot find anywhere that works.
Has anyone with ACC seen if it does interfere with the RD ?

The front one is on top of license plate which I still have to place

I am buying the BMW kit quad. It contains two vertical and two horizontal, I may buy another single horizontal so I can place 2 in the rear.....

I'm on the fence about getting a laser jammer. Not too many PDs uses lasers were I roam but I want it just in case. Maybe towards the spring I can make a move with Escorts shiftier pack to work with my 9500.

Maybe thats because Escort is the best out there. Once they came out with the GPS set up which pretty much ended the days of false alarms and came out with the red line for long range use, the "arrows" and any other systems out there had no hope.

Re: OT: Laser Jammers.......

I use laser interceptor on my BMW and it has been 100% so far. V1 is awesome detector. My favorite combo. Forget the rear protection. Have yet to be lasered from behind with 150k miles on LI so far.

Re: OT: Laser Jammers.......

BTW, easy to install too. You need to get them straight and level, power ground, run a wilre through the firewall, and put a button somewhere. Take someone inexperienced a day. Took me 2 hours but I'm a former pro. The hardest part is getting them to be level and secure. I used metal brackets and 3m emblem doublesided tape. Been solid for 3 years through car washes etc.
