Out with the Old.. in with the New!

So back in August, around the ninth - I sold my 2014 WK2 SRT.

Why? I was stupid, that's why. (old link here)

In reality, I was previously used to lower sports cars and I sold it with plans to grab a GT-R or R8 down the road a little. I traded it in on a new Rubicon and then with the check I got back from between the two.. I upgraded the Rubi.

My wife had always wanted a "jeep jeep" so this worked out well. My wife gets her dream vehicle, I had a great time but maybe someday I get mine...

Fast forward to now... not a day has gone by without the SRT I didn't regret my decision. I purposely stayed out of the forums, so i wouldn't see others modding. I shut down my old badassjeep.com srt blog and I just went into denial I think. Yeah, it was grand.

Last week my wife tells me that she doesn't like the modded Rubicon, and she misses the SRT. She didn't have to tell me twice. Within 48 hours I had secured a white WK2 SRT with 6 miles on the odo.

It arrived today. I don't take possession though until the winter tires come in for it as we're about to get blasted with snow. next week is supposed to be -12C/10F. It was ordered with the three season Pirellis. Great for Winter I hear.

I parked Tank (the rubicon's name) next to the SRT today for size.

I've already started collecting mods.. I think when the winter is up, I'm going GT Haus exhaust. Kind of hoping someone here does it first so I can hear it on the SRT. I already have the R1 slotted/cross drilled rotors/pads, and I'm still waiting for Billet to get back to me so I can order my new catch can.

As for the GT-R and R8 - both amazing but pfffft. Why spend more? The SRT is amazing. I was stupid to let her go, but I'm happy once again.

Side bonus - I had originally wanted white but I let my wife chose black because black was my second choice and she was after all saying sure to me getting a SRT.

Choose your battles

Glad to see you are back. I missed your blog actually!

There is an older GT-R around town (college town you see all kinds of things) and I think that thing could fit inside our jeep! Plus he is quick, but not made for michigan roads nor winters. You will have the best of both worlds

Welcome back mate, it was your exhaust vid on youtube that made me choose my black colour, I also bought the Borla S-Type. Love the look of your old ride mate. I enjoyed reading your blog too.

Re: Out with the Old.. in with the New!

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm happy to be back. I won't be going as aggressive with my mods as some of the guys have done in here. I'll be doing some though - hopefully they help someone when making their decision about mods.

Glad my Borla vid helped you! I uploaded a second vid yesterday of delivery.. nothing major but made me happy.
