P0471 code

It was 3 degrees around Boston this morning. My SRT --for the third time in under 3000 miles-- disabled the remote start due to diagnostic code P0471. Apparently, this is an exhaust pressure sensor fault that is showing up frequently on the 14's. It automatically clears itself, after a few days; however, that doesn't help me when the remote start is disabled during the exact weather you need it for. Not a fun commute. Anyone else having this problem; and, if so, are you on a stock exhaust set up, or after market?

Re: P0471 code

I've had issues with my remote start frequently, however I'm never able to pinpoint why - it seems every time is different surroundings. I've had the issue with the stock exhaust and the new ATAK. Where were you able to see the code error?

In the dash display, if you cycle up 1 from your speedometer, there is a diagnostic code section. You can view any active codes. It always happens in mine during extreme cold. I immediately put on the ATAK, so I have no way of knowing if it is the system or a problem for everyone. Makes me feel a little better knowing you had it pre install lol

I had this code back in the summer Service engine light was on. Had to shut off and let fully cycle off opened the hood and poked around. Started back up and it was gone. Weird

Re: P0471 code

I've no mods on my Jeep and I've not seen the exact code... but I've seen the message flash frequently that Remote Start is disabled. I've also frequently had my alarm go off at the same time. I'm suspecting the front hood hatch sensor but I've not really looked into it yet to be honest. Next time I'll cycle the codes to see if I can get the exact code readout.

Re: P0471 code

I have the ATAK installed and it was only after i wired the valves open did I start to get the same error code. Jeeps are picky about engine codes and any active code will stop the remote start from working. You can buy a cheap OBD2 scanner and reset the code yourself or wait a few days and it will go away on its own.

Re: P0471 code

Hey guys so I have the same problem,, I have a flowmaster exhaust which came with the truck. Hopefully the dealer fixes whatever needs to be fixed. So this problem comes from the butterfly flaps staying open ?

Re: P0471 code

I get the code if pushing truck a lot and valves are opened permanently....but after a couple cycles of normal less spirited driving, code goes away.

your aftermarket exhaust is more than likely missing the flappers.

Corsa put a small restrictor pill in the exhaust tube that goes to the sensor. some times condensation gets built up in it and i gotta drain it.
