Pilot Super Sports 305/35 22

Hey guys,

I currently have the Vreds on my truck with FR 22's. My tires are getting bald and its time to face the ongoing issue of new rubber. I just found out that here in Italy I can get both the VREDS, and the Michelin PSS in the size I want/need. I know that the michelin is obviously going to be a better performing tire (Vreds have been great though), but wondering if anyone has experience with this particular tire.
Basically I don't mind paying the extra , but the VRed has been a great tire for the price and I am curious which one will last longer as my tires take a beating out here on the roads in southern italy. If the Michelin lasts even 5 miles longer I will definitley spring for them, but if its less miles then i will just go witht he VREds.

Please let me know.

Jr.

Here is the link to my jeep. Gotta get some new pics up, but if you go to the second page she has the VREDS on the FR 22's.

Scott,

They are a "110Y" which is the same load and speed rating as the VREDs. Just a lot more in price so trying to figure out if its worth it. The VREDs are great. Not amazing in weather though, and didn't last that long (performance tires tend to be softer and i expected that) but if the michelin is a little better performance, and a little longer lasting might be worth it.

I got quoted 290 Euros a tire for VRED, and 430 Euros a tire for the michelin so its a decent difference.

I have the PSS on my corvette and they are the best tires I've ever owned.

Re: Pilot Super Sports 305/35 22

Michelin is hands down the best tire company in the world in my opinion. I have a Polish business associate getting pricing on the Michelins for me in Poland. If he can get them reasonable enough, I'll have them consolidated in a freight shipment and sent to me over water.

$430 Euros a tire seems very high!

Yeah i feel its a little high too. Can only find them at one place here though. The VREDS are 280 Euros which i thought was a little high for them too. Wish I could find them at a decent US place and order to my military address, but can't find either online. and the PSS's, and the VREDS are free overnight shipping here so that might make up for it a little. this is a rough month! Just realized how bad the inside of my rears are bald, and friday night brakes started yelling to be changed ! Had to put her in the garage till she is good to go.
So now its tires, and brakes and of course the adjustable blackops arms to prevent the uneven wear again, and if im gonna do the brakes and rotors might as well go 2 piece! Gotta tell the girlfriend we are eating at home for a few weeks. LOL

Damn, too bad. I sometimes head to Aviano to use the PX and Commissary. Be cool to link up with another GC SRT owner.
