Unhappy Polish scratches on window side panels ?

I took my car to a manual car-wash recently and they kind of scratched the black side panels around the windows.

Anyone knows how these can be polished ?

Re: Polish scratches on window side panels ?

I polished some bad scratches out of the clear instrument cover plastic on a car I bought. It was a two part 3M product, but unfortunately it went off in our hot weather and I've chucked it.

Also used some Meguires plastic polish... got the job done, but was slower than I recalled the 3M stuff was.

Why not PM the site sponsor Adams and see what they suggest?

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Polish scratches on window side panels ?

Those B and C pillars have very soft paint and they scratch and swirl up easily. I never take my Jeep to those car wash places, I either wash it myself or take it to a detailer shop to wash it properly but I still get swirls and scratches on those pillars..
Being that soft, they can be corrected/polished easily.. Go to Ace Hardware and get Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0, foam pad/applicator and microfiber pad/applicator.. Start with the foam pad and if it didn't work as desired, use the microfiber pad..

Btw how long does this anti-scratch formula last for ? Is it a permanent solution or goes away after a car wash ?

It's just a polish with abrasives to level the paint and remove the swirls and scratches.. You'll get swirls and scratches again, how soon? Depends on how often you wash & dry and how careful you do that..

Re: Polish scratches on window side panels ?

I used meguiars ultimate polish on my buffer and then topped it with some Collinite turned out almost perfectly.
