Put a cold air intake and the Diable T1000 tuner on the SRT and it slowed down?

Since I added these go faster parts my SRT's 0-60 went from 4.4 to above 5 most of the time and my launch control is really spotty. Most of the time it won't rev like it did before and even when I foot it off the lights I just could tell it was just not a quick. My times at Fontana last week went up around 14 seconds from consistent mid-low 13's. Going to meet up with the guys here at Irwindale drag strip on Thursday and hope I can get it going before then. Any suggestions?

Wonder if it has to do with the tuner and the vehicle being a 2014. I've thought about getting one but it seems like they haven't gotten it quite right yet. Either that or maybe more heat? Do you have AC on? Could just be environmental factors as well.

It was cold early at Fontana, almost rain, a thick mist really, then sunshine later. Always race A/C off. I think it has to do with the tuner too. I am having the guy pull it off after I re-program the stock settings and then take it to my dealer and ask them to re-flash the computer for me and see if that doesn't do the trick. If not, it's the cold air and I find that hard to believe. The Jeep does the same thing here at the beach.

Did you use one of the canned tunes preinstalled, or was it a custom tune?

Yes. It only had a mild tune for 91 octane fuel. Spoke to Adam out in San Bernadino and he said they haven't broken the code on the 2014 yet. He said he could put it on the dyno and write a program and load it in the tuner but it would only increase the torque but not much horsepower. $500.00 for more torque? Not sure it's worth it. Looking at his blower for it but not sure if that's smart as I don't want to mess with the 5 year power train warranty.

Tuners on WK2s are a waste.

The tunes are worth it, I have yet to be beat by a tuned or untuned wk2 out here with the same mods. They dont seem to be as much of a gain as the past but they are worth a couple tenths. These things do hate heat though

Re: Put a cold air intake and the Diable T1000 tuner on the SRT and it slowed down?

Heres the weather at 12 noon on 5/10/14. Its not bad for Fontana but the water grains are up above 50 but that should not hurt you that much. When we meet up may 22 at Irwindale you can try running the stock tune and the canned tune and see just whats going on as A.V.GCSRT8 knows all about them and Adam is right the 14 may not have all the clads worked out on the 14. Irwindale is 895 ft lower and on a flat track than Fontana and the weather is about the same. I will be the only 1 with a 2012 with a stock tune so we can go by that.
temperature: 68 deg f
uncorrected barometer: 28.288 Hg
humidity: 60 %
vapor pressure: 0.690 Hg
dew point: 53.598 deg f
grains: 64.7
air density: 91.748 %
density altitude: 2,919.088 ft

Re: Put a cold air intake and the Diable T1000 tuner on the SRT and it slowed down?

my buddy is currently working on a 14 SRT jeep and he tuned it and said the same exact thing.

before tune.... 0-60 4.4,4.5.4.2
after tune.... 0-60 4.9, 5.0,4.9

i dont know what it has to deal with but a good buddy of mine that has tuned for diablo said that the technology isnt there.... and wont be there for alittle while longer.

I think it is also the cause of my dead battery thst I keep finding. Put it back to stock tune.and pulling the stupid thing until someone breaks the code. Then taking to Dodge and adk the to re-flash it for me.
