Well then either the weight of these vehicles are way off or the horsepower is extremely understated...

Dodge Viper 660 hp/3300 lbs...3.3

I guess the Jeep - is an anomaly...if you will.

I can agree to disagree as I am sticking with the laws of physics, rather than posts on a message boards.

A true, no bs vehicle that is 3.9/0-60 is the Cadillac CTS-V 4220lb/556hp

Another true, no bs 3.9 vehicle is the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG 507 3649/507hp

Unless your Jeep gained 194hp with an intake, exhaust and tune...it's just make believe. That is the hp(664) required to move a 5150lb vehicle to 60.

Numbers and facts don't lie. The bold claim that replica 22 inch rims weigh less than forged 20 inch rims...another fantasy.

Study up on the forged vs. cast and weight. Also pay attention to unsprung weight and what it does to a car and performance -

The rule of thumb is for each lb of unsprung weight you gain/shave is equal to about 4 times the sprung weight amount reduced.

Lets say you drop/add 40 lbs in unsprung weight via wheels, rotors, etc; it would be the equivalent of taking 160 lbs out/adding to your car (sprung) like an imaginary passenger that was sitting there the whole time.

It effects performance - on all fronts, don't be fooled. If you are into looks vs performance - go for it.
Yeah I really find the 22" rims being lighter dubious. You are right with the rest of it in general too. There are a couple things to consider though.

The JEEP is all wheel drive and better able to hook up.

My understanding is that the 3.9 sec run was calculated internally and it was not a dragstrip recorded run which is a very different story. Also for this run the person in question used Nitrous so it is by no means a stock car.

Anything below 4.5 secs on these JEEPs is impressive though for their size and weight.

I did not use nitrous. Where did that come from?

Nitrous was not used. My truck off the lot ran quicker than 4.5. My buddy has a 2013 charger with headers, exhaust, tune, and 20s and I smoke his ass every time in 0-60. These cars are advertised to be in the low 4 second range. I go to the drag twice a month and my buddy owns the quickest CTS v in Dallas and builds race cars and he is HIGHLY impressed with these 2014 jeeps. The new 8 speed helps a lot with the acceleration. Do either of y'all own the 14 SRTs? And have you taken them to the strip? Bc I have and I go often. I do 4.2 0-60 consecutively and have hit 4.1 a few times on very cool nights. AWD plays a huge factor in 0-60 times. Now 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile I get beat by basically any comparable sports car. But with header, exhaust, tune and nitrous it'll be a much different outcome.

Sorry then, I thought I read in that thread that nitrous was used. You need to record some dragstrip runs.

Re: quick question for the wk2 srt guys running 22's.

Scott that's interesting with the gen 1 but I'm assuming that it is only now that they've gotten to this weight. Are the replicas forged?

For the mass distribution you're also going to need to look at inertia tensor information, I doubt we can find an engineering description showing those properly.

I do own a 14 SRT, completely stock, I've not used the LC on the street but I do have the impression that it is very quick off the line. And no, I've not taken it to the drag strip either but I intend to sometime in the next few months. I really don't care about modding this thing, it is just about perfect as it is. My opinion may change if I move to Denver though... right now at sea level the thing can breathe.

Re: quick question for the wk2 srt guys running 22's.

they are not forged...Factory Reproductions had the wheels made. They may be able to give you those specs. It doesn't matter....they have ben on the market for 5+ years and I have never heard of a bad failure. They actually told me the 20x9's weighed 34 pounds and 35.5 for the 20x10. But a member here...Svenskaguy actually weighed each wheel on a shipping scale at the same time and posted those weights.
