They are a bit noisier on dry pavement than the stock pirellis, lateral grip is softer, very grippy for straight line starts. I tend not to push them too hard, the SRT would melt them in one winter if I don't behave :-)

Re: Ready for Winter - Bring it On!

I'm in Denver and just picked up my 14 yesterday. I'm concerned about the chemicals for snow removal harming the black chrome wheels. Has anyone had issues with that? Just wondering if a new set of wheels is a must with the new snow tires I must also purchase.

Most/all wheels have a urethane or similar coating, so there should be no problem.

That said, if you are going to be changing tires twice a year, having the extra set of wheels makes sense. If you have to have the tires remounted twice a year, there is a chance of damage. Plus, you would need to have them balanced each time. No, that wouldn't make up for the cost of the new wheels, but not having to mount and balance does reduce the net impact on your wallet. Plus, since you do have this concern, having 'winter wheels' will give you peace of mind.

agree, used to not have an extra set of wheels and had tire bead damage once during change and had to get four new tires as a result, luckily the tire place admitted their error and took care of me!
