Re: Real close to buying loaded 2014.. Should I wait for 15 or 16?

There will be a 9 speed! Yes I think it will make it. I just hope they mature the front clip along with it.

Its funny though... a heavy truck is always gonna be slower than what we want and honestly the current version is more than fast enough. So why is there such a driving force in my brain for more power? Theres only a few places you can safely extract the power and even then most people will never actually race it.

Buy it, drive it, enjoy it.

Or cruise the internet dreaming about what might be. Sitting on the couch with the laptop isn't quite like driving, though.

Waiting you run the risk of getting the one thing you want, and also getting a pile of stuff you hate.

Just MHO.

Re: Real close to buying loaded 2014.. Should I wait for 15 or 16?

Yup. It's like waiting for the next new iPad or iPhone to come around, you're waiting around considering it while everybody else is enjoying theirs. Plus you never know, the 14's might be the best year ever and you'll have a classic on your hands.

If my car doesn't sell this weekend, I'm putting an order in for the SRT. If it does, Overland.

I don't know. I see them as two different animals. The Overland is a on and off road practical hauler and the SRT just a road beast. I don't think I'd regret getting one over the other.

What's the worst kind of terrain you've had your SRT on so far? Just wondering how far people have taken it, given what it's built for.

The 8HP70 is an INCREDIBLE transmission. Can handle gobs of torque and is used on cars with "chassis bending" engines with a hell of a lot of torque.

Re: Real close to buying loaded 2014.. Should I wait for 15 or 16?

I was seriously considering an SRT. But with the limitations on what you can get in terms of interiors, and the disconnect between what the SRT is aimed at and what I do almost all of the time, the extra $$$ did not make sense.

I really wanted a 392. I'm from a longtime Chrysler family, that's a historic displacement. But like many back in the day, I'll be happy with my DeSoto 345 displacement
And now I have two

I am very happy with my Overland. I kinda decided at Carlisle this year that I'm not really an SRT kind of person anyway.. my world view is different
