Rear DVD troubleshooting

Just wandering if anyone else has had the same problem, one of my rear DVD screens has no picture. It turns on, you can see all the settings, but no picture and only when playing a disc. It works fine with HDMI cable. I've checked everything, and now I'm not sure where to go from here. The most peculiar thing is that it worked two weeks ago. The only thing I've done since then, I installed a dash cam connecting it to the fuse box. I tried disconecting it, but didn't fix the screen problem. TIA

Re: Rear DVD troubleshooting

Since I just installed the full factory rear DVD system in my SRT I am a bit familiar with the system and might help you troubleshoot. First, which screen is it? Driver's side or passenger side? Based on the symptoms you describe it sounds like the video connection for the rear screen. It makes sense that HDMI works and the image from the player does not as the HDMI to rear screen is internal to the seat. The video output for both screens comes from the Blu ray player in the center console and goes to each seat. The connector for each seat is underneath and is a single wire that is independent of the main seat connectors. The driver's side connector is white and the passenger side is purple. Look for this single connection clipped near the main seat harnesses under the seat. Just make sure seat movement or something hasn't dislodged it. Let's hope it's the connection under the seat and not the connection into the Blu ray player as that one is a bit more difficult to get to.

Re: Rear DVD troubleshooting

These are the little things that hurt the jeep brand when it comes to quality,I saw the ratings I think on fox news channel where they had Fiat #1 and jeep #2 when it came to worst quality in all the vehicle or brand. All this can improve if they make a real effort to improve the overall quality of the Chrysler Brand, I think they had Audi,Subaru,Lexus,BMW in the top 5 as best brand.
