Replacement tire comments requested.

I did a search and read several threads about replacement tires, but most were older threads or not on point.

My OEM Pirelli tires on my '14 SRT need to be replaced (at 11,000 mi), I am not pleased with them, nor do I want replace them with run flats. I was interested in the Yokohama Parada Spec-X, but I find out they are being discontinued in the P295s.

My local shop suggested Hankook Ventus ST RH06 or Falken Ziex S/TZ-05 as a replacement. I was hoping to get some feedback from the forum about these, either pro or con.
thanks!

Re: Replacement tire comments requested.

Whilst I haven't replaced mine yet, I have used the Hankook and Falken in the past in 20" & 22" format. While the Falken is a good tyre (tire) with hard compound for longer life.... they are a very noisy road tire. The Hankooks have a bit softer compound an no where near as noisy.

You may consider going up a size to 305 if you want the Yoki (which I haven't tried).

Re: Replacement tire comments requested.

Interested in the same not much info out there on what replacements people get. I'm around 9k miles and I can see the two of mine that were rotated at 6k are looking worn in the middle. Kind of disappointing I drive the thing like a grandma most of the time. Def not replacing with the same as OEM when the time comes hoping to get another 6-7k out of them we will see don't have high hopes for that

Both General & Toyo have a pretty good 295/45/20 replacement tire. General UHP
Toyo Proxes stII
Might be worth a look. Both around the same price. Give or take a few dollars.

I replaced my P Zeros with Toyo Proxes last Spring. Ride & handling are great. They're about an inch narrower in thread width, than the Pirellis. I had Falken tires on my Overland. Tread wear & ride were good, as well.

Re: Replacement tire comments requested.

I was able to order Yoko parada spec-X from discount tire as recently as last week - amazon has them as well. 295/45/r20

I had them mounted today and I'm pleased... ride seems less stiff and they absorb more of the minor road imperfections (plenty of those in Michigan) - will see how they hold up

My other option was General Grabber UHPs (same size) - $20 more a tire on discount tire - while more aggressive and pure summer tire - I almost pulled the trigger but enough people said they had some road noise that I went with the Yoko's

I had the Yoko's on my Cayenne S with 20" wheels/tires and they lasted very long. Were smooth and quiet at first, but then could never get the balance correct so there was always a vibration in the steering wheel. It will be interesting to know how you do with them, I never knew if it was the car, the wheels or the tires? If yours stay balanced and stay smooth I would definitely buy them for my SRT, they are very inexpensive compared to the others and like I said they lasted at least 35,000 miles with some tread left. Keep me posted with yours.

Re: Replacement tire comments requested.

I checked with Discount Tire, the Yokos are on backorder with no delivery date promise from Yokohama. I'd rather do business with Discount because they have a store in my town. I've never done business with TireRack, even tho I visit their site for info.

Re: Replacement tire comments requested.

I am going with the Falkens. Same size. Mostly due to being bi-directional for rotation purposes. Will update after they arrive

Re: Replacement tire comments requested.

*shrugs* I like the stock Pirelli's and how they ride and handle. Plus the added run flat protection. I plan to replace with OEM.
