Thumbs up Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

500 more miles...I am getting 22mpg at 78-82 mph with A/C on 3 and loaded vehicle (34psi cold, nitrogen...getting up to 38-40 durine use)...the ride is very nice and the comfort has improved tremendously over the run flats. You feel a lot less of the imperfections in the roads and still have great traction off the line. Sidewalls are not as stiff, mainly in hard cornering situations...but with the weight reduction, price, suggested longevity and the 1k miles I have put on so far...these Toyo's are awesome and I would highly recommend their consideration as a SRT run flat replacement!

3-stage wax/polish/sealant on the wheels and some tire dressing for the first time on the set...WOW do they pop now!

I love how dark they can look depending on the angle...even after the 3 stage rim job and tire spiff

Haha thanks...I think. Yeah the Toyo's are definitely an option with the Yoko's...and some have gone Grabblers and are happy. Will know more after this 400 mile trip today but so far so good!

Not my first rodeo...this was the first tire shine I have applied since the purchase of the tires...so wanted a nice base as i do not prefer a shinny tire. The solution is a water based blend (no oils) and doesn't fling...plus it's over 100 degrees here so that has already soaked in nicely even in the A/C'd garage. Will give them all a quick wipe before my early road trip and unfortunately pass on the dalmatian look

My dad uses this special blend on all his cars and the stuff is awesome...normally when it's hot it releases the shine, but this just shimmers a little more and stays. Spent 4 hours on the wheels/tires and the interior leather...it was time for the dash and seats...the center console and rear...fawk I love detailing!

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

Has anyone tried running Continental ContiCrossContact UHP? Are they any good? As they have for our OEM size as well.

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

I was first shocked when I saw the MPG's you posted. My best so far is a bit over 24. I was just keeping up with traffic and the car has about 2k on it. I'm curious to see where it goes.

OEM size...295/45r20 I didn't want to mess with the rolling diameter and have the speedometer inaccurate.

2015 SRT? All stock? A/C on? ECO? Flat ground and over 70 mph? I can get in the 24's if the is A/C off, ECO on and going 65-72 mph

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

2015 SRT, ECO on when I would remember after stopping, Mountain highway crossing through the adirondacks, A/C on, not too high

Tire pressures ranging from 31-34 cold (forgot to refill them before leaving)

I can't recall the speeds, but I do recall that it was spirited driving all the way. Overall, I was probably a little slower than what you quoted at the top.

I do have to say though, the mpg gauge was up the entire time and I was experimenting with hypermile-ing. How do you keep track to make sure you're getting decent mileage?

Also, trying to find the upper limits of this truck's fuel economy is the main thing helping me earn a (hopefully) hefty discount from liberty mutual through using their "righttrack" system.

What do you do to keep your MPG's up?

Interestingly, over a 100k mile life of the car; estimating an average of 22mpg during that whole way, the amount of money saved on gallons purchased in comparison with my previous car is almost entirely eaten up by the added cost of buying 93.
