Question Replacement Tires non-run flats

Hi JG!

I am getting ready to buy new tires for the Goliath's I bought and wanted to see if anyone has put these Hankook Ventus 295/45r20 tires on their SRT? The price-point is great, I don't need to be going over 140mph and have roadside protection so I will not be spending $2k+ on Pirelli's that only last 12k miles.

They appear to be "new"...currently looking at the General Grabbers and these Hankook Ventus:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

For almost the cost of one Pirelli P-Zero runflat I can get 4 of these...thoughts?

Please post any pics of General Grabbers or the Hankook Ventus tires installed and your thoughts on them. I do not live in bad weather conditions and my SRT does not leave the road...I also do mainly city/highway driving (no track or autocross).

Thanks in advance!

Nice wheels!!

Whatever tire you decide just make sure it is designed for the vehicle weight.

I had the Hancooks on a Murano and they were fine, good wear. Not a high performer but it sounds like you aren't pushing the SRTs limits.

Thank you! I am hoping they will look good on...I like them in the box haha

Load rating on the Hankook's is actually 300lbs higher than the Pirelli's (2600 Hankook vs 2300 Pirelli's)...so I don't think that should be an issue.

I do not push the limits, but I do drive hard. I just want a tire that I can get at least 20k miles out of without spending $2k for less mileage. Do you have any other ideas for tire replacements? I had Continental DWS's on my 08 with SRT wheels and loved them, but they do not come in a 295/45r20 (only 295/40)...

Thanks again for the feedback!

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

I just had the Hankook installed a couple weeks back no complaints so far and took a 1200 mile road trip on them. Ride is much better than runflats.

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.

I run the DWS for winter, although they look a little shorter they are awesome. uploadfromtaptalk1438282077104.jpg

OEM Pirelli in the photo for comparison

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

I just got the Hankooks as well. Love them, ride is MUCH better, quieter too. Oh, and they are 1/4 the cost of OEM. Win, win, win. If I had to ding them....the tread pattern isn't as cool looking. (Sorry that's all I could think of..haha)

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

Hi Guy's,

The one question I have is how is the width vs the Pirelli's. I have heard that our stock tires are wider than most replacements and I must admit I love the OEM look but like most of you hate the cost and mileage life.

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

I have the Toyo Proxes ST on mine, same load rating (2601lbs), and plenty of room in the speed rating category. Happy with them so far, and they are quite cheap to replace!

Are the runflats the three season tires?

Both the 3-season and the all-season tires on the SRT are runflat.

Re: Replacement Tires non-run flats

Is there any market for take offs of the run flats with under 30 miles? If the other options out there will provide longer life, I may not be opposed to changing mine right out of the gate.
