You got my support scott. Hope it all works out for your son! If he's feeling down just tell him "keep your head down and your eyes on the horizon, you'll get thru it!"

Awesome update via email Scott. Modern medicine is absolutely amazing.

I wish your kid the best when it is time for the surgery/recovery.

Re: serious question for my SRT brothers??

Just in case everyone didn't get my email or visited the giveforward page. Dr paly is gonna use a newer nmethod for Maxs' lengthening. Its called the precise method and uses an inplanted rod or nail with magnets that pull the bone apart and allow the bone to regrow to fill the void. Much less evasive, less chances of infection at the pin sites and no huge device to wear with pins etc. The surgery is much more expensive though....$85000. Its worth it to me....shorter receovery period of only 3-4 months and less chance ofinfection because the are no pins. Max is very excited. they should be home around 830 tonight. The surgery will also be done sooner....so if you plan on donating...please do so asap. Thank u my Jeep brothers! I love you all!

That's great news brother, that really is..

One question though, and of course if it is considered of a personal nature, please don't think I am trying to be nosey..

Wouldn't something like this be covered under insurance? I mean, when I broke my nose (6 times from boxing and hockey), insurance covered half for my procedures..

Yeah I'm kind of wondering the same thing. My insurance covers half if the doctor is out of network. Unless $85000 is half....

Yea mine too. Either way, it's a lot of scratch and I am going to chip in tonight.. It won't be a lot (just bought a condo with the wife) but it's going for a good cause.

P. S. If he is ever going to come NY for rehab or anything, give a holler and I can be a chauffeur if ya need..
