Dollars to dollars I'd take the SRT is better anyway, and wait until one of those things breaks-lol.
Oh yeah, you're right about the breakage thing stashgto. A long while ago my wife and I decided a Grand Cherokee and a BMW 3 series coupe would be the right combination for us, and we've stuck to it through three of each. The Jeeps have required more maintenance, as you'd expect with a 4x4, but overall it costs less. The BMWs have been great to drive, and pretty reliable too, but when something does go wrong it is often a shocking bill. Fortunately, our current one is still under warranty for three years. For that reason, I wouldn't buy one of the uber-SUVs either, but also because a Jeep (any Jeep) has way more cool factor going on.

Just saw this article yesterday and searched for any posts.

This is almost DjVu from when I got the '06 SRT and read C&D's article where the TBSS beat it. That seems almost preposterous now.

While I don't think the future will prove the new Jeep is that much better than the review shows I am perplexed at this and a few other reviews where they say it's boaty and large feeling, what mode are they in? It talks all about 'm' mode on the winner but nothing about the dial on the Jeep and where they kept it, if they did everything in Auto then Shame on Them!

Meh, nobody liked the WK SRT that much in the reviews either and it was my favorite vehicle of all time...until this one.

Just wanted to interject my own Personal Bests:

These were after a little bit of break-in:
@1K
1/4 13.134 @ 104.79 (track timer) - 13.1 @105 MPH (Evic)
@2K
0-60 (EVIC) 4.3 Sec

It actually sounds better IMO. Have both in the garage, and at least personally, I like more the refined sound of the HEMI vs the 'motorboat' one of the LSx engine. Inside the car they're similar, but outside, the HEMI wins easily. The Overland with Corsa sounded absolutely incredible. The best V8 exhaust I've heard, and I've heard many expensive ones. Sounds like a modern DOHC V8 rather than a pushrod. The Corvette 'pushrod' sound is unmistakable.

And yes, I hate when magazines compare vehicles costing tens of thousands of dollars more (and even double and more) rather than comparably priced. They might as well test a Ferrari against a Hyundai, and slam the Hyundai as crap. Geez.
