Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

But at the same time. If you want something roomy and sporty....WK2 SRT of course. It would be perfect for that person's needs. And I myself do like something a little roomy other than a full size SUV.

If the WK2 SRT offered a manual transmission.......ooooh boooyy. That would be one hell of a ride.

I canceled mine last night. I can get a 2010 ML63 for $65k.

Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

Wouldn't it be better to just test drive the thing first and then cancel the order if you don't fall in love with it?
That's what I've been thinking all along.

how exactly are we suppose to test drive vehicles we currently have ordered, and none have been built yet or sent to dealers?? And most likely, the one that does come to a dealer near you is going to be the one you ordered for yourself, or is already sold to someone else and won't be a joyride-mobile.

Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

Go ahead and get that ML63 for $65k. What is your point? Do you think that is a deal? Are you aware that AMG models have some of the worst depreciation of any luxury mark? Also, the new body ML is due out in September. Why Spend so much for yesterday's newspaper?

Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

I think there is definitely a market for the 2012 SRT 8. I've seen several new order tracking requests and when I cancelled one of my orders, my dealer easily sold it to someone else (less then an hour).

Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

I was excited about the SRT8 but now I do agree that the price prevents it from being the great value that the last one was. I am also disappointed at the acceleration numbers,no "rev-matched" down shifts, 5 speeds only, and ugly wheels. I don't think it's going to happen for me. (I haven't ordered one by the way) We have a 2011 GC Overland and we love it but I'm afraid the SRT may not really deliver like the last one did.

Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

It's amazing, the excuses we make to justify our choices....... Anonymous

BTW, if someone can edit the poll, I originally voted to cancel till I called my dealer and we came up with a we couldn't refuse, thus I am buying one.

Moderator, if you can switch my vote from cancel to buy, it would make the poll more accurate, thanks.....

Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

I'm with Boston on this one I voted that I was still on the fence and then I kept looking at pictures and watching videos. That vote of still on the fence has now changed to I will be sucking it up and still purchasing this thing!!

And I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase.

The first thing I would do is throw on a set of black Vipers.

Re: So how many are cancelling for real?

FWIW, I officially cancelled my 2012 Jeep SRT8 order yesterday.

This whole process has been a total nightmare for me. I'm very frustrated with Chrysler and SRT for all of this changing things and not being forward with information, etc...

That said, I can't blame the SRT team too much. Maybe it was all Jeep. Anyways, I am actually going to get a Challenger SRT8 now. A 2012. This way I can get a Manual tranny and the performance is the same or better than the Jeep, so everything I've learned/read still can be applied. The new 2-mode suspension on the Challenger should be similar to Auto/Track modes on the Jeep. I'll be saving about $12K over the Jeep, so I plan to put some of that into some cool mods, including the Eaton when it comes out later this next year!
