I will say, if you did have an order in prior to August 10th, I'd strongly recommend you purchase the vehicle, because you already can turn around and sell it for more than you paid since there is a $2,500 msrp increase. Split that with the dealer and you've made yourself $1250 for doing nothing.
And if you put it on EBAY, you might get 20K more from some guy who's going to plate it in gold! LOL
it's actually a $6490 price increase. The Packages went up $2500 total, but anyone who orders must get both packages.

You know, that is a pretty good idea.... if I don't move to D1 soon, I will buy something else and follow your advice.........

On second thought, I still want to run against your WK1 or the 800HP WK1....... so I am sticking with my order....

In addition, they raised the trailer tow package by $695 to bring it to $995.

This has to be one of the worst rollouts in car history.

Not Worst...
Did you follow the 5th Generation of Camaro?
It was shown in Transformers 2007. Approved to be built slightly before that in 2006.
Full specs released in 2008 and didn't come out till March of 2009 after a 1 year delay. And the Jeep SRT8 was faster! Ha ha hahaha.. Here we are complaining about a perceived delay.
That was a piss poor release of a vehicle...But this one is up there.

I didn't know the price of steel tripled this week???

This one really puzzles me. Ralph claims that there were a lot of WK1 owners that complained about not being able to tow. This was the reasoning for designing the rear end the way it is....and the way most people do not like, with the split exhaust. So if you do or don't want the tow package you are stuck with the split exhaust. For $300, it was reasonable for the package (there is nothing to the package, just a receiver bracket which we all know is not expensive) but now they have priced it at almost $1000!?!

Where is the sense in that? You would think that something that was that critical in the design reasoning would either be included (because you are stuck with the looks either way) or make it very affordable so customers would add it to the options.

Has the tow package price increased on any of the other Jeeps?

Nope. The Jeep tow package is $300 higher than for the Laredo or Limited, and the tow package includes more content on the Laredo and Limited. On the Overland the tow package works out to be only $500 (included with Hemi).

The $995 tow package on the Jeep is the most expensive tow option on any of the Chrysler group vehicles.

Do you know if they added rear load leveling (it wasn't called out in the previous literature).

But look at the fancy hitch cover that you get!
