Does that mean it will also run 9's in the 1/4 mile to!? Haha.

I don't see how it's possible for it to be 4 seconds quicker. I can see maybe a second. But 4? I don't think so...

Went and checked the video, he did say 4 seconds. One of the weakest... to the point of being really disappointing , was the way my 2012 moves out when floored from that kind of speed 30-35.

SRT website under Grand Cherokee.... hit link under "New Math" that says Video eight speed transmission

To you 2 idiots that rudely replied Right back at ya!!

From Great Eight: The Grand Cherokee SRT receives an 8-speed transmission for 2014. | driveSRT

"The new 8-speed keeps the 6.4L HEMI engine in the heart of its power band, says Roselli. "When we do 50-75 mph passing, the mode that also comes into play while merging on an expressway, the 5-speed car did it in 4.7 seconds the 8-speed does it in 3.9. "

So 0.8 gained from 50, I firmly doubt you'll gain 3.2 seconds from 35-50.

Not trying to stir the pot here, this is just a discussion..

Re: So....just how fast you think this new 14' Jeep SRT really is?

Did you watch the video? Why would an SRT engineer state such a thing on the website if it was beyond the realm of possibilities. Their reference to the 50-75 times improving by almost a second makes me believe the 4 sec time even more. 50-75 is the real sweet spot for the 5 speed cars already... where as a 35 punch is almost embarrassing .

I think you're missing something if you don't realize that this rev matching ZF 8 speed trans is going to transform these cars.

Agreed, It's just a discussion.

You two... Either way, when the media ban is lifted on the 25th, we will know the 0-60, 0-100, and 1/4 mile times. That's what really matters here.

Can't we all just love the SRT's together?

Watched it again, right you are. Its difficult to comprehend, but sounds pretty amazing. They do mention that 0 - 60 is the same in there.

The first time I watched that I thought they said four seconds also, but convinced myself I heard it wrong, just because it seems so implausible.

The transmission is such a huge part of a car, very glad I held out for the '14 right now!

0-60 would have to improve with Launch Control, right? That is what really seems implausible...

4 seconds off the time would make it a 9 second factory Jeep. You don't actually think that's the case, do you??
