Re: So what's your plan?

I love it but wouldn't buy one now for multiple reasons including the new nav will be out in a few years. I have used it in the new 300 and it is very nice.

Re: So what's your plan?

I'm still planning on getting one! I don't like the price increase and all of that, but I like the look of this Jeep and I think it will be a good driver for me for awhile. I just get impatient with waiting lol.

That being said I know some say that they know their dealer isn't getting one. Is there a way for me to find out if my dealer is still getting one? I am still in BG status even though I ordered it on July 5th. I hope that means I am still getting it and it's just moving slow. I called the dealers and they say they think they are getting some, but no one has any hard and fast answers.

Ha ha ahaha...>Good luck. Aren't they all coming pretty much loaded up now?

I have a 2010..>So not quite ready to upgrade, but won't if there's no new tranny with more gears, no new display/navigation and another color than Silver, Red, Black or grey.

Ok...Maybe the color selection woudn't deter me that much, but the price will. I was fully intending on spending 10K more for the new version. (Paid $41K for mine), but I'm not ready to spend 60K on something that gets 13 mpg and isn't any faster than what I have now.

I think in 2014, HP #s are going to be through the roof. Ford Focus RS is going to have 370 Horsepower. Mustangs are going to have 600+ HP. M3 will have 450hp and the Chrysler Corp is even going to have a Pentastar v6 at 400 HP. NO, I'm not comparing the two before you attack.. I'm just saying the 470HP 6.4 liter V8 in a 5100 lb SUV is going to sound miniscal compared to what is out there.

Not getting...price and potential resale value. S4 on order and just picked up a 02 Tacoma extracab 4x4...both for the price of one GCSRT8.

Re: So what's your plan?

I will be delaying mine until they come with a better transmission and audio unit, as in Australia they will be around $100k (US$105k) and I just cannot justify this for a 1st release unit. I will just extent the lease on my 400hp sedan (FPV GT-E) and see what it is like. My Wife is getting the JGC Overland CRD, so I will enjoy her ride and get used to it.
I am also need to Jeep and they have a average reputation here, so I also want to ensure they are up to my spec on service and do not let me down on the dealer level.
While I think they are a great car, it is let down by the price and modern features, if they want to play in the Euro space, then need to match the Euro specs and service level.

i also live in NJ. the prices for the 2012 srt8 while r high are made worse by the dealers up here adding a mark-up to them. i called a dealer in FL where i got the jeep for near invoice +T&T. on top of it they will taking my truck at KBB value where in NJ the most jeep dealer are based on galves prices which is another 2k lower.
good luck with the S4

Are you sure about the v6? NA or forced induction?

I'm only as sure as what I have read, but considering the source, I trust them.

A twin turbo and single-turbocharger version are planned, for introduction by 2014; both would be based on the smallest size (3.0 liters) and might be slated for limited-production models (e.g. a new Viper based on a Maserati or an SRT mid-sized car). The twin-turbo version appears to projected for a whopping 420 horsepower while the single-turbo appears to be set for 370 hp.

Re: So what's your plan?

I think that I may have found a plan B that I could be VERY happy with...

So here's the deal: I'm REALLY starting to think that not only is the 2012+ Grand Cherokee SRT8 is out of my league price wise; it's WAY out of my league price wise. When you look at competitors with similar features they're even MORE expensive. So, I needed to expand my search to include cars with some compromises but at a much lower price. I may have found what I'm looking for... the 2013 Dodge Charger R/T Max with AWD.

I KNOW it's not an SRT8 anything, but hear me out:

- The price loaded will still be about $20,000 less than the Jeep while still offering high end amenities like the 8.4" head unit (which the Grand Cherokees DO NOT have), heated / ventilated seats with rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, HID headlamps, Harmon / Kardon & Beats Audio, AWD, and will probably include the 8-speed transmission with paddle shifters.

- It still has a pretty badass engine, the 370 horsepower 5.7L Hemi V8 (definitely not the rush of the 470 horsepower 6.4L Hemi, but still enough to put a smile on my face to / from work)

- It can tow with the use of the available Mopar hidden hitch. Not as great of a towing capacity as the Grand Cherokee SRT8 mind you, but enough to meet my needs.

- Although it's not an SUV, it's still a FULL SIZE sedan, so interior room is still GREAT.

- With the new likely 8-speed transmission it should get around 17 MPG city and 26 MPG highway all while running on regular gas (HUGE cost savings over the life of the car there)

- It's infinitely customizable; there are a TON of aftermarket accessories for the Dodge Charger line. For example; here's a 2011 Dodge Charger R/T with the 370 horsepower 5.7L Hemi with a new Corsa aftermarket exhaust:

The styling is still BADASS:

So what am I losing? The Charger will be VERY peppy, but won't be crazy fast like the Grand Cherokee SRT8. It has a BIG trunk, but will still have smaller cargo room than the Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Again, I KNOW IT'S NOT A GRAND CHEROKEE SRT8, but you've gotta admit, it's still VERY nice for a HECK of a lot less $$$!
