Re: Some Track photos from Tracktime

How did you guys get to actually race? was it a open track day, because when i was up at limerock one weekend and we were told the only way to race was to be part of a car club.

SCDA http://www.scda1.com/

They run a well organized event and the class room instruction was done by none other than Mario Andretti's son Jeff Andretti. There was an R8, 2 Ferrari's, about 7 GTR's, 3 or 4 911 GT3's, a couple 911 turbo's, 7 or 8 corvettes and tons of BMW M3s. Really a good time and a good bunch of guys.

Re: Some Track photos from Tracktime

Just to clarify, this was not a racing event, but a High Performance Driving Day.........

In racing you can pass anyone anywhere anytime without anyone's permission....

In HPDD you can only pass in specified locations of the track (usually long straights) and only after the car being passed gives you a point by or signals (allows) you to pass him/her.....

You will get thrown out of HPDD if you pass someone in the corner or without a signal......

Surprised you didn't change the brake fluid before you went. The factory stuff is pretty bad.

Nahhh, I drove the truck in it's most stock form.

If I were to track it again I would definitely get race pads and fluid and also some decent performance tires, but now it is only going to serve me as a DD/tow vehicle so no upgrades in the near future......

Re: Some Track photos from Tracktime

Video uploading to YouTube now. 10 mins left.
Sorry for the poor editing and as a disclaimer, I did leave t/c on, so if you've done the track experience, you know that the T/C won't give you full throttle till your steering almost completely straight. Since it's my DD and my first time out, I wasn't quite willing to go that extreme. The T/C did catch me once or twice.
At one point the T/C light was on steady. Don't know what that meant, but didn't happen again.

It means it shut itself off. Mine does it every time I'm at the track. I believe it is to reduce the T/C so it doesn't pulse the brakes as much.
