This squeaky sound drove me crazy on my 3000+ mile road trip to Yellowstone! I haven't had the time yet to dig into the innards of the steering wheel yet but has anyone come across this and figured out what's causing what sounds to be something rubbery rubbing against something?
I have narrowed it down to somewhere in the lower left region that is just behind the air bag. I'm guessing there is some rubber coated wire or gasket that is the culprit. I do not get this sound if I pull up on the 9:00 position of the steering wheel towards me.
I found someone who posted this vid online who apparently has the exact same issue as I do, except I get the squeaky sound about 1 to 2 degrees to the left of off center which means I get to hear this a lot!
