I know it will be hard to find because the SRT High Performance Audio is a "Standard" option on all SRT8's now but has anyone heard the difference between the SRT Audio and the base audio? Would anyone except an Audiophile be able to tell the difference?

and

Anyone who has taken delivery of the theirs with the High Performance Audio...how does it sound???

I have the SRT Audio on mine and it sounds very clean and powerful for a "stock" system. The bass will rock you if you turn it up past 20 on the meter. You can get even more bass by increasing the equalizer control on the left. The highs are great and I hear more of the music compared to other systems playing the same song. Is it perfect? Probably not to some, but I love it!

I heard the NON-SRT Audio system in the SRT8 tour Jeep. It's a downgraded version obviously, but would satisfy most people if they weren't used to better systems.
If I'm not mistaken, the standard system is similar to the Overland's set-up?

Don't give "Audiophiles" so much credit, an overwhelming majority are full of shit. They say what they do because they have, or have had the pleasure to view, readings from various sound products. Without that dropped in their head, they are clueless. Very few people possess perfect hearing with perfect pitch.

Gregg,
Did you see this video?

Obviously a promo video, but considering the Harmon Kardon "Audiophiles" are the one that designed the system for each vehicle, I trust they hear more than most of us and designed it to the best of their ability.
I'm sure some will find faults in the system and that they can do better, but all in all, it's a great system.

don't confuse acoustical engineers with dorks who run around calling themselves "audiophiles" (although most AEs probably call them self audiophiles, they can at least back it up). Acoustical Engineers use science, research, and instrumentation....audiophiles spout bullshit they've read about sound measurements and think they hear differently than others because they choose sound and devices as their hobby.

I haven't heard the high performance audio setup, but I haven't been wowed by the "standard" audio. I also haven't listened to CDs yet. Satellite and FM sounds a little muffled at normal volume and the bass is very weak. I'll try a few things tomorrow and post an update. I would love to compare with someone local.

Is the eqalizer something beyond basic mid-bass-high? Anyone had a chance to look at the sub enclosure, is it solid or plastic? The amp looks impressive and speaker components seem of high quality, but cannot glean much more from the vid clip. Thanks.

The only option I got on my Jeep. I ordered pre lux group II requirement and I'm glad I went with the upgraded audio. The system sounds really clear and the bass like stated earlier can really rock if you want it to.

The truck is quite calm at speed in ECO mode so you can really enjoy the SRT audio system, the bass is very deep and clean, I came from a 2011 550i with upgraded sound and I think the SRT sounds much better, no rattle or weird vibrations at all. The sound is really nice anywhere in the vehicle, even for back passengers who were wowed by the sound until I floored it a bit and the 6.4L took over....
