After going through a lot of the threads on this site, and all the helpful information, I pulled the trigger on a Brilliant White (which Forum research confirms is the fastest color) 2014 SRT - Harmon Kardon Audio Group / Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof / Full Size Spare Tire / Black Chrome Split 5 Spoke Wheels. No pictures as it currently is Speckled Black from all the gunk on the roads here in the DC suburbs.
Using what I learned form your experiences, I was able to check and confirm that my SRT didn't have any of the visible quality / assembly issues (e.g., console alignment) noted on the Forum.
It came down to a choice between the Audi SQ5 - brilliant vehicle, but too small and not enough "beast," and the SRT. It only took a short drive in the SRT to convince me it was the right choice.
The morning after I bought it I was driving into work, not aggressively given the break-in period, and I hit a large patch of black ice. Quickly recovered without any damage to the SRT, but thoughts running through my head of not wanting to take it into a body shop less than a day after I bought it!
