your email agreeing to invoice is your ace in the hole. However, I'd be on them like a hawk as I wouldn't put it past them now to sell it from underneath you or try to avoid selling it in some other way (i.e. lying that it never came in).

sounds like the new sales manager knows what they have there, where the other didn't, and the new guy is going for the $$$. He wants to sell it to someone else for MSRP or higher because he knows the dealer is only getting 1 or 2 right now.

yea, too bad they ruined the whole experience though. When they called to tell me they would still do it there was just so much resentment in his voice. Doubt I'll hear from them again until the vehicle is in.

I'm still appalled by how greedy some people can be, to screw over a paying customer just so they can make a few extra bucks.

i had this happen before i bought my jeep
i was trying to get into an 06 charger srt8
buddy i was dealing with got fired before the deal was finalized, only downfall was that i didnt have it in writing

alltho i am much much happier with the jeep


glad it has worked out for u
u may be upset about the situation now but as soon as u sit in ur new ride and hit the gas pedal, everything just goes away lol

Finding a good dealer is key, they are few and far between given my experience. It doesn't matter if they are Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge or Audi or BMW, have had issues with all of those brands dealers and VW corporate and have only a couple of dealers I hold in high regard and they get all of my business.

Yea and I don't know how our society has tolerated that or how the industry got to that point.

Maybe I'm more critical because im a serial entrepreneur and every company I've ever started has focused on phenomenal customer service. Car dealers seem to have reached the exact opposite end of that scale. Even if they aren't going to have great customer service they could at least just be ethical... which is now hard to find in a car dealer.

It's also sad because I love cars and have a bad habit of buying a new one every 2 years... too bad the process is so broken. Here's an industry that needs a Steve Jobs to revolutionize it.

Although Saturn is now defunct....They were on to something. This is the price. No discounts, no bargaining and no hassle.

I think the internet has caused much of the car buying process to go haywire.
For example, before the internet, you would have NEVER even considered the possibility of ordering a vehicle from a dealer in the MidWest and had them ship it to you.
Now, that is a great way to buy a car at a discount.
Blame the damn Interwebs!

Another problem is this whole system of brokers, and retail sales in all lines of business even existing at all. They make money and they don't even invest, design, build or manufacture the product.

Even the good dealers will try to stick it to you somehow. I have found a good dealer in the sense that they post their prices online, and the prices are very good. They are up-front as far as prices and fees, so you know what you will pay out-the-door. BUT, they do try to compensate with the aftermarket stuff, financing, and extended warranties. You can't trust them entirely.

Send me your fax or email and I can send you letter from Chrysler
My dealer told me 5G`s over MSRP and I paid 59k for a 64k truck
Happy to send this letter as when I showed it to owner of my dealer, he agreed to honor old price

The new Service manager probably wouldn't be able to get his brain to grasp this concept.
