SRT8 headliner question

Hello,
I could not nail this question down with a forum search, and couldn't tell from pics I have seen online, but in the 2014 JGC SRT8, does one have to have the Laguna Leather option to get the suede (Alcantara) headliner? I know the Summit has it, and I think I just assumed that SRT has it, but saw a post that implied otherwise (I think). I haven't seen one of these guys in person, but am thinking seriously about taking the plunge. Believe it or not, the Alcantara headliner is a feature that is very important to me - almost a necessity in this price range. My last two cars (2003 M5 and 2011 E63 AMG) have had it and it is really an impressive touch. I don't know that I love the stark contrast of the Laguna leather with the otherwise black interior features (especially looking into the vehicle from the cargo area), but would probably spend the extra on it to get the Alcantara headliner. I have an Eames aluminum group desk chair in a whisky color that is a semi-aniline leather that is beautiful, and looks very much like the Sepia Laguna to me, but again its the mix with the black that I'm a little concerned about. I am pretty sure I want Max Steel to be my color. Thanks, and I hope asking this doesn't get too many rocks thrown at me regarding the search function. Glad to be a part of this community.

Re: SRT8 headliner question

But you could also go aftermarket or use justforjeeps.com and swap in after you purchase your SRT if you prefer not to have the Laguna interior. Probably could negotiate that into your purchase contract and have it installed for free (you are buying a $70k vehicle from them), before you take delivery...

Re: SRT8 headliner question

I wanted it also but can't stand the Laguna interior so I passed on it. IMHO all SRTs should have had it. Oh well.

I spoke to a guy who runs the body shop at a local dealer. I'm very cool with the guy and he's helped me out with a lot of things for cheap or free. He said he's pretty sure it would cost a few grand to get the OEM part. In that case I'm not interested. He also said the problem with the aftermarket is they never seem to get the visors right. And if you buy the OEM visors and aftermarket headliner it won't match perfectly.

I'd love for someone to find an OEM economical solution. I've just been looking for a totaled Summit.

Re: SRT8 headliner question

+1 all SRTs should have the suede (Alcantara) Headliner, but like the above it only comes on the Laguna Leather package. It is definitely a nice touch.

I would highly recommend seeing and feeling the Sepia Leather package in person as my wife talked me into the option and I have no regrets with our decision.

UPDATE - SRT8 headliner question "SUEDE" / "Visors"

OK, so just wanted to find out what the suede headliner would cost. I spoke to Peter @ Just For Jeeps (He's the man by the way) and it is pricey. Retail for the headliner is $2750.00 + ship. He said we could get them for around $2k. Not worth the investment in my opinion. BUT the visors he said can be had for just about $100.00 each. They might be a nice touch? What do you guys think? Considering we have suede seats!

IMO no friggen way would I spend that for headliner. I've actually looked at my headliner once when everyone was making a big deal about it. After that I've never looked again. But if it is important to you, go for it. Personally I can think of better ways to spend 2500 in mods.

Re: SRT8 headliner question

As nice as it is, I don't really notice it much. I don't think I would pay that much dough aftermarket for it. Let us know how you go.

Re: SRT8 headliner question

A rethought on my suggestion- give Peter a call and see how much the seat covers are for the black interior (if priced better) then order the Leguna and swap the seat covers out instead of the headliner!

Why? The thread is about Suede. Not Leguna Lether!
Tell you what you call Peter if you want Leguna Lether - 888-651-5337

Don't get me wrong guys. I am NOT going to pay $2k for a headliner. I was just wondering if you guys would do the suede visors for $98.00 each? Thats what I was aking.

Re: SRT8 headliner question

I ordered my 2014 SRT in mid May with the Dual Pano roof and I noticed the price increase from 1595 to over 2k. I looked around and the only thing that changed is a line item below it saying "Premium Headliner Module". Which is the same line item when ordering the Sepia interior. I cross-checked with recent build SRTs with both, and the pano roof is dropped to 1595 if ordered with Sepia.

So it would appear if you order or purchase a late build 2014 with a pano roof you can get the Alcantara headliner. I will know for sure when I take delivery on Wed.
