Re: SRT8 WK2 coming in summer 2011

Scott...But it did beat those cars and cost less. That's what was so great.
And honestly, using F/I like S/C or Turbo's could easily put up those #s.
It's just they choose not to.

WHY are people so focused on the rated hp numbers? REAL WORLD results are what counts. Have you looked up the numbers for the X5?

I agree. I spoke with an srt engineer about this over the weekend.....call the number whatever you want, all I care about are PERFORMANCE numbers, 0-60, 1/4 etc.

Unfortunately, that's all we have to bicker about.

What else can we talk about? We know the inside is great.
We're bored. Now hand over a sound clip of the exhaust you've been hiding. You can't get in trouble for leaking that!

Re: SRT8 WK2 coming in summer 2011

WK2 SRT > X5/6M, its all about value people, its apples and oranges, you cannot compare a $50k Jeep to a $100k BMW or Porsche. You can try (like everyone has) but its still not logical, which is why a lot of people do it (lot of ppl on here should try to take a psychology course in their lifetime)

Milous is a smart feller, listen to him when he says looks at REAL WORLD, cause this is real life right? The Chally is throwing down big #s, running lows 12s and I expect the Jeep to be on par or better thanks to AWD once again, remember, traction is king! Then let all the vendors start getting their hands on this beast and mods will begin to leak, allowing people to see the true potential of the 392 Hemi. We already heard about the 100x better power-band thanks to some great engineering, imagine this 12 second Jeep with some simple boltons!

NOT to mention the 10x improved interior which was like 90% of everyones gripes about the last gen Jeep. The only REAL negative is the remounted exhaust tips as Id say the majority loved the center mount! BUT, Jeep wanted and NEEDED to address the towing concerns of buyers because thats definitely a comparative advantage for other companies in the market.

To me, they've finally made the well rounded full circle Jeep, its great looking, INSIDE AND OUT, is in the top tier of street performers (top 5% in my mind) AND it can TOW a bunch of weight, all of which is a HUGE improvement over the previous gen for the SAME price!

In my opinion, no one can legitimately sit here and complain about this new SRT8, especially if they liked the WK SRT. This is all of that and more and we haven't even seen it on the road yet! I know Im excited because based on everything I just said, well how couldn't you be! Its the best thing Jeeps ever put out in a long while imo. NY Auto Show, here I come!

Those at ultra-high performance ultra luxury vehicles. This is a Grand Cherokee on JUICE.....around $50K...there will be nothing that will compete.

Well cosidering I'm a Social Psych major, I don't need that to know that hp and actual numbers are a little more in common than you think. They may not be set in stone but their close. So the X5 costs more, who cares! The last srt cost less and smoked other SUV numbers. Nice try though. I think it will compete but it isn't going to stand out like its older brother did in comparable numbers.

And you know this how? Have you seen the numbers? Have you seen it personally perform? How can you speculate on something you haven't seen?

You can judge it when you have seen the actual numbers. Until then, give it up already. You can't compare a 50K vehicle to 90-100K vehicle.

WC...I understand where you're coming from...But this and every post on here is about discussing the unknown. We get it.

The point you're missing though is we did compare a 50K vehicle to the 85k - 110K vehicle and ours was faster, looked better and handled better. All for half price.
Now...That isn't the case, and when it was true. It was quite an accolade. In fact, Porsche had to come out with the Turbo S, to try to out do the 50K vehicle. Now that's a compliment!
