Suspension 'rattle' - any ideas?

So this one is odd....

I took the Beast into the (s)dealer day after x-mas for the latest Tranny TSB's - I'll protect the innocent but the local dealer is not high on my list, but they claimed to flashed both trans and the body control modules, however, as it only took them a couple of hours and they were slammed, and as it was the day after x-mas half their staff called in sick - I'm wondering if they screwed up ... read-on (if you have patience)

I left the shop and within sometime noticed "damn it is loud" sounds like something is loose - but they didn't open or touch anything on the car...

Now granted it is has been colder than a witches you know what, and the roads in MICH are crap... but in Auto - it sounds like a loose suspension/caliper, something with every bump, mainly from the front end. You can hear a distinct rattle where it sounds like something is not giving any support Switch to sport and it tightens up and the noise goes away.

Ran it through a carwash (before it got really cold as I was on some backroads and such thought maybe some ice/snow/mud was up in there - didn't help.

No codes on the dash computer, runs like a raped ape, and alignment is great, checked the calipers - no movement, looked underneath nothing leaking no broken pieces - nothing obvious...

I have:
255/50/20 Blizzacks on 9.5" rims (winter setup)
Eibach springs
Blackops endlinks

I know it should be 'stiff' which it was last winter (had everything but the endlinks) but it should not sound like a GD log wagon... it is really bad and I'm worried if I can hear it - what is it doing to the rest of the jeep...

Is it possible (???) that when they did, whatever the F... they did, maybe they didn't reprogram something right and the adaptive suspension is not functioning? as stated above, in sport/track the car tightens up and the noise basically gone... but in auto it is a rattle wagon

Just in case, I pulled the battery cable tonight and will let sit overnight - maybe some magic will happen... but if any of you Gurus have any ideas let me know as

I'm sure when I take it to the dealer they will claim it is my mods, and I will fight them, but at this point I'm willing to say "here are the original parts" put them back on, I will pay you and see if that makes it go away and when it doesn't tell them HA I told you so...

For the record, I have ordered RM mids to replace the Eibach's as I thought maybe they were just too much - but more and more I think something is just ADR (ain't doing right...)

Thanks in Advance,

I have the same problems you're experiencing.. I'm getting a clunking sound from what seems to be my suspensions..sounds like something is loose. Brought to the dealer.. they ordered front struts which has been on back order for the past three weeks. Hope this helps guide you in the right direction

Re: Suspension 'rattle' - any ideas?

Thanks, that is at least something to try... Or point the dealer in the right direction.

Do you have any suspension mods?

Check the Black Opps End links. The post are not hardened and may have stripped or something. If they put it on the lift it may have been enough force to loosen them up if the were semi stripped already.

I had this problem a few months ago. The dealer replaced the bushings in the front end.

Re: Suspension 'rattle' - any ideas?

Dealer confirmed what another posted said Right front strut is bad

He said they have had 4 GC (non SRT) come in with this problem in past week I was surprised it is the same across the models

Now I wait for the parts...

This can happen!

We are now shipping all links with Hardened studs not that their was a big problem but we are sure their will be no problems at all now 100& success is our goal they are 50% stronger now to prevent this from ever happening. NOTE: if they are not properly tightened they can loosen either way I had one set strip out already and replaced free of charge part of our service.

Re: Suspension 'rattle' - any ideas?

Strut showed up today... Right side will be replaced on Friday I hope no issues, but think the left side is also gone which will then need to be ordered...

Getting oil changed, rear wiper, and the ever evolving tranny TSB...

Re: Suspension 'rattle' - any ideas?

I started noticing a noise from my passenger side front over rough road. Not a rattle, per say, but a sound that just makes me think something is loose.
