Re: Sydney SRT Club

I get a TPMS error on my car on EVER START. I have been to the dealers 5 times to get it fixed. They have NFI what the problem is and there is an "escalated case" with the Jeep AU muppets, but as usual nothing is happening.
It is starting to piss me off, as they do not seem to know what the problem is. While it doe snot affect the car, it is annoying to have an error every time the car starts.

Oh oh....that's sounds ominous. What dealer? Artarmon isn't it?

The Hills boys seem to rave about the Castle Hill dealer- maybe we should be heading there.......

Re: Sydney SRT Club

This might be an out there option, but check the TPMS fuse. I recently removed one from a car which of course then brought up the warning light/chime on start up. Could be that simple........ which would explain why the dealer cant find it lol.

Read almost every post here , great thread with some great information , thankyou all.
I notice a few have a tow bar fitted , just like to ask if anyone tows a caravan , around 2000 to 3000 kg ? Ball weight 175 kg, do you need to beef up the rear suspension with air bags ,or stronger springs? Or is the vehicle fine as is with the setting on tow? also any scary fuel figures when towing or would i be correct in thinking they are surprisingly good for a 6.4 petrol, any advice appreciated.
Have a wonderfull new year everyone,
Regards Peter
any help here appreciated

Re: Sydney SRT Club

I will have a look.
One thing I notice is the drivers side rear always reads lower than the rest. The pressure varies from 2.4 <-> 2.8 on 3 out of 4 wheels when the rear right is 2.2 <-> 2.6.
Weird thing, the problem went away by itself for 2 week in november for no reason, the appeared again.
I think the TPMS module is faulty.
The dealer is Brookvale and they are not instilling me with their ability to fix it.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

I haven't checked the fuse yet, but the manual states the TPMS may give a fault message if;
1. Jamming due to electronic devices or driving next to facilities emitting the same Radio Frequencies as the TPM sensors.
2. Installing some form of aftermarket window tinting that affects radio wave signals.
3. Lots of snow or ice around the wheels or wheel housings.
4. Using tire chains on the vehicle.
5. Using wheels/tires not equipped with TPM sensors.

Like who doesn't have #2!!!!

I don't think you need to do anything as the suspension is quite stiff, but I wouldn't bet my life on it.

I've towed a car float and car weighing around 2000kg.
Be mindful the approved towing weight for the SRT is around 2900 kg. Also, be mindful of the MOPAR tow bar and hitch. The factory tow bar is only rated to about 2250kg

Did you check your fuse Enforcer? Mine is OK.

I wonder if the window tint is causiing it? I got the special metalic one, whatever the hell its called, so if it has metalic traces then of course thats going to further limit Bluetooth or whatever the TPMS uses.

What do you think?
