Re: Sydney SRT Club

40,000km on mine intake tune exhaust lowered 21's driven hard

Zero issues

Lots of fun

Very happy

I rate it much higher than the 300 SRT8

I had a 300 SRT8 2014 model

The difference is the 300 is smoother riding and quieter, more of a luxury vehicle

The Jeep is a real muscle car... Or suv...

Performance there isn't much in it Jeep went 13.2 1/4 Chrysler went 12.98 once then 13.1 then slower each run

On the road the jeep smashes the 300 off the line, the 300 has more legs up top but to 140k's there's not much in it

Both are great cars, but I like suv's better than sedans and I'm wrapped with my SRT Jeep

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Still have the wheels/tyres for sale, now $2300.

Scott, if you read this, do I need to put a proper ad in the for sale section for Oz buyers to see?

Re: Sydney SRT Club

G'day guys. I'm having some transmission shifting issues after the last dealer service. This may have been covered here prior, if so my apologies, but here's the deal...

Transmission was running "normally", that is, to be honest not great but I put up with it. My grumble previously was that around town in Auto mode, the gear selection is usually too high (8th at less than 70km/h as one example) means that it labors so much that the vibration is annoyingly bad. Work around is to either move the dial to Sport or pull the shifter back to activate Sport shift mode. This results on a nice upshift or cruise gear selection, however, the downshift (when pulling up at lights etc) I find too aggressive, that is, not nice and smooth to a halt. After many reports to the dealer, it appears that nothing can be done apart from installing the latest software update. Enter the current problem...

Device Software Version updated to 2.2.4 on 11th Feb 2016.

First problem is awefully rough upshifts when engine cold. All over the place. Makes one look like you are driving a manual car, and you're hopeless.

Second problem, occurs when shifting manually using the paddles. Super hard changes, and it seems like the ignition is cut too long on the upshift, so there is a delay, then it bangs into the next gear so hard that it feels like it's going to leave the drivetrain on the ground. BUT, this is only the case when the Sport shift indicator light is illuminated in the instrument cluster. So if you are in Sport shift mode then enter manual shift mode using the paddle, this is when the slow (but hard) shift occurs, all the way through the gears. If you are in full Auto mode first, or Sports on the dial then then switch over to Manual, no such problem.

I've taken it back to the dealer, demonstrated this to the "Master Tech" (who is actually a really nice bloke), and the service manager has apparently lodged a "customer concern" case with Jeep.

Anyone else experiencing such problems? More importantly, anyone know how to fix it?

BTW, I have asked the dealer if the software version can be wound back. According to the service manager, this is not possible.

Looking forward to some feedback. Cheers.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Sorry to hear about your problems. I think the annoying vibration your getting is a symptom of the engine going into its Eco mode. In eighth gear under light load it will deactivate four of the eight cylinders making the engine run a bit rougher. By putting the transmission into sport mode you basically lock out the Eco mode which keeps the engine running on all eight cylinders making it run smoother. Unfortunately for you sport mode applies firmer shifts both up and down which sounds like is driving you crazy. Yours sounds like it's extremely aggressive in its shift programming however.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

For what it's worth, I found similar with driving in D on the transmission selector, and pretty much from day one have driven it purely in S on the trans. It was a little harsh initially (first 200-500klm or so) but gear changes smoothed out a lot since (just shy of 20,000klm now). I just couldn't get past the early upshifts and my SRT sounding like it's breaking wind when the MDS (Eco) kicked in. I do also get a weird upshift from 1-2 when cold, but only once and then is good.

Does sound like you have an issue and I'll be pushing hard for a fix. Also maybe ask to drive another SRT if they have one on in their sales yard, for comparison.

Annoying situation though, and hope they sort it for ya.
