Re: Sydney SRT Club

I seriously considered the SQ5. It's not in the same category as the SRT. The SRT is pure ugly muscle that's had tough life and will put you in a headlock if you look at it the wrong way. The Audi is GQ, Metrosexual muscle that has to go to the gym 6 days a week, watches what it eats and drinks for fear of losing it's six pack. The SRT drinks what it wants, eats what it wants and doesn't give a f*** what it looks like in the mirror except to admire its scars and reminisce about how it got them.

Depends on what you're looking for. What's your end-game? Overall size, price, cargo space to take the kids and missus away for the weekend, power to haul a trailer, fuel consumption, prestige, nice interior, off the line quickness? My priorities were power, utility and admittedly on road presence. Price was a factor but I knew what price range was realistic for me. I didn't worry too much about fuel but I still hate filling up all the time so that's where the Audi really stands out being a twin turbo diesel and all. I love diesel power working for a diesel engine company but the rawness of the 6.4 Hemi just won me over.

Like most German cars, I think it's priced way too high especially knowing what they charge for it overseas. This is a big neg and makes you NOT want to buy it or any other German car until they pull their head out here in Oz. Their service costs are too high but you would definitely get treated better by Audi service. The interior is a bit too posh especially if to want to load it up with stuff from Bunnings. I'd be scared to scratch up the leather. Well, I am scared with the sepia too but not enough to prevent me from throwing some treated pine in the back.

Just my thoughts. Let us know how you go. The BMW X3 3.0 Diesel is pretty cool too and less VW'ish. Then there the new Porsche Macan. Don't know when that's going to be here though.

i have the optional spider monkeys (400km). Trying to convince the missus to let them go but the dealer has her convinced she will get more at re-sale (yeah right).
