Re: Sydney SRT Club

I would think it is more injector/sparkplug or coil problem.
I would go to a real mechanic. I am not sure if CHE have mechanics or not, as I have not used them.
It is always a good start to get a second opinion from somewhere that has a clue.

The dealer seems to think it has something to do with when the car drops from 8 down to 4 cylinders but have apparently said they can't do anything unless more people have the same issue.
Piss poor service considering it is a 80-90,000 dollar car, any thoughts

I recall some earlier WK2s also had this problem. You may be able to find the threads on it. Also check the TSBs of the early years. From memory, it was an easily fixed software problem.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Saw a new white SRT on a car transport truck headed north on the M7 last night. Who's could that be?

Not quick enough to take a photo and didn't want to risk it with all the cops on the road yesterday.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Hi, new here. Just saw a White 2014 SRT at a car wash in Sans Souci. Anyone here?

Also, how much trouble did you have trying to get a test drive. My local dealer doesn't have an SRT available for a test drive on the weekends and it is a struggle for me to get there before 5:30pm on a weekday.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Hah, yeah had the same problem. No stock in Sydney at all. I ordered the SRT on faith after driving the Overland Diesel and 5.7 V8. I just said "f***it" but ended up finally getting my test drive in Perth when I was over there on business. Happy with my decision.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Thanks for the quick reply. Might have to do the same. Was told by another dealer that I might struggle to get a test drive of the Overland V8 as there weren't many around as most people go for the diesel.

Would like to track down a test drive before laying down the cash but may end up in the same boat as you.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

To be honest with you, I wasn't that impressed with the 5.7L V8 but then again it's not made for performance. If you want performance out of it, one would have to throw a bit of money and work at it. Diminishing returns and all. The diesel is pretty damn good and from what I understand you get a better return for dollar performance-wise with it as chips are pretty cheap and there's heaps of potential just waiting to be tapped when chipped. Needless to say, if I didn't get the SRT, I would've went with the diesel.

By the way when buying my Jeep I went through a broker that arranged for a test drive regardless if I bought it from the same dealer. Problem was that I couldn't wait so I arranged it myself.

I am certainly considering it. Was looking at the Overland V8 originally but the SRT is very tempting so I wanted to test drive one to see if I should 'push the boat out' so to speak.

This is just my opinion, but the Overland is a luxury "cruising" V8 and the SRT is a luxury "sports performance" V8. I would think two very different type of car/buyer. I call BS on not being able to test drive one though.
