Re: Sydney SRT Club

My new ones are coming with the TPMS in them so all good.

Why would you go halves in a set of wheels?

Re: Sydney SRT Club

'Cos I had damaged two of my rims and hadn't considered wheel repairs at that stage. I only needed 2 and my mate needed 1 for the same reason. We bought the wheels/tyres, but then both of us had our originals repaired, so now we both have 2 spares each lol. Plus telling the wife I was spending $1k instead of $2k was easier.

Well I got the beast serviced on Saturday as planned but that's as far as the plans went, what a screw up.
As it turns out Narellan isn't open on Saturdays, I got there as agreed at 7:30am and the place looked dead so called the booking number on the confirmation sms finally answered at 8am only to find out the car had been booked in at Warwick Farm.
The service went well, it was done within 2 hours even offered to was it.

Cheers
TRAJ

Re: Sydney SRT Club

So you were happy with Warwick Farm? I am getting a little tired of Rosebery.

Yeah, in the end it turned out okay. I was dealing with a guy by the name of George and he was very good.
The screw up was with the girl that called me back as Narellan uses the same booking service and somehow she managed to book it in at Warwick Farm even though the initial online booking was for Narellan.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Hi all, for the past 3 or 4 years whilst I owned one, I have organized a Xmas in July trip with fellow Ford Territory owners. I followed on from Allypally who was one of the first to arrange such a trip when he also owned one. These trips were usually a weekend away somewhere which included some down time to relax but also a day trip off road somewhere to enjoy our cars. Yes the Territory is not a real 4wd but that never stopped us having fun with them. Sadly the numbers of people attending diminished over the years to be just a few of us and on the last trip there was 2 Territories, Ally in his Jeep and another friend Mark^^ in his Evoque (also a Territory owner).

Links to last few trips: (note my username in the Ford forum is FPVF6X201)

With the gentle push from Mark^^ who has just done a Tagalong trip I am now seeking EOI of doing something similar with the Jeep crowd (SRT & regular Jeeps included). Given that we are now part of the American brand we have decided to rename the trip, and therefore the timing, to Spring Break, and move it to September when the weather is (hopefully) a bit warmer. I don't know how many of the other SRT owners will take there car off road but i'm willing to be the first if needed lol. I'll post this in the Sydney SRT Club thread too.

So there is another tagalong trip happening on Sunday the 21st September.

Tag-A-Long 4WD Tours - Simmo's Offroad Tours

The way we usually do these trips is head off on the Friday, stay at whatever accommodation we can arrange, do the drive day on Saturday, stay overnight again, then on the Sunday check out and do a small drive or just relax and head on home. Obviously this trip would be relax on the Saturday, check out Sunday morning then do the tagalong trip on the Sunday.

It would be a great day out for all Jeep owners that want to take their cars off road in a safe and reasonably easy trip (though maybe a bit nerve racking in my SRT lol) and would also provide a chance to put names to faces.

Mark^^ has found two accommodation options for us already depending on your budget.

http://www.sofala.net.au/Home.aspx

Or

This of course is aimed mostly at the Sydney owners, but there is nothing stopping others from making the trip to Sydney to join in (Mark^^ is from the ACT has been to every trip so far!) Mark and I will probably go regardless but it would nice to have my new Jeep friends come along too. Who's up for it?

Rob
